Chapter Two

Long ago there were three Titans. Delseriph Titan of Strength and Light, Nesroph Titan of Intellect and Darkness and Helena Titan of Time and Space. Delseriph and Nesroph were brothers competing for the hand of the lovely Helena in marriage. Nesroph swooned her with his vast knowledge and his power to make even the darkest corners of the universe beautiful, but he was out done by his brother Delseriph and his strength and light abilities. Nesroph became jealous and vengeful so he foraged a knife from the hair of Helena and the skin of himself and his brother.

One night while Helena was asleep, Nesroph took his knife and plunged it into Helena's chest. Her screams filled the endless universe, her tears created the stars and her blood became the planets. Delseriph heard her screams and came to her aid only to find a challenge from his brother. The two fought endlessly, Nesroph's blood became the Dark Gods while Delseriph's blood became the Light Gods.

As the two fought, Helena pulled the knife out of her chest and cut a rift in time and space. She sucked the two Titans into the rift where they now fight endlessly. After she closed the rift, the knife broke and became the Dragon Gods Apocripha and Cronos. As she watched the new universe be born, Helena died, her body becoming the very world humans now live on.

"Well," Jace began ending his story. "Several centuries ago, Cronos came to the Dark Goddess of Knowledge and the Light God of Wisdom and asked them to make seals to keep the Gods off of Earth. The Goddess of Knowledge made the twenty keys, each for one God, while the God of Wisdom created twenty doors linked to the separate worlds. Once Cronos activated them, all twenty Gods were banished and cursed from ever setting forth on Earth unless a mortal opens the gate, allowing them entrance unto the world. The twenty keys were distributed across twenty great warriors to be protected and passed down through their families."

This boy, he just gave me a fucking historical mythology lesson. And I'm at lunch! I don't want to learn!

"Don't mind Jace," Kyra said finally. "He just loves to learn new things. He's a little innocent though."

"I am," he said smiling.

"So," I said bored. "What does all this have to do with me?"

"Isn't it obvious," Jace said. "You have the key of the Dragon God of the Apocalypse, Apocripha. I have the key of the Goddess of Wisdom, Koreena and Kyra has the key of the Goddess of the Sky, Aria. Each of us are descendents of those great warriors!"

"Right," I said. "Well, it's almost time for class so I'm just going to... yeah."

"You think he's crazy don't you," Kyra said. "Don't try to run away, he'll find you."

"Geeze like it wasn't creepy already," I said getting up. I began making my way out of the cafeteria and stopped in my tracks, realizing that Jace boy was following me. "Could you not be creepy and stalk me."

"I'm not stalking you," he said plainly. "If I were stalking you, your destination would have to not be my own. Stalking you would mean I would have an unhealthy obsession with you which I do not. Though be it true that I am following you, I am doing so because our destinations are the same."

"Huh," I asked stopping in the hall.

"We all have the same math class, you clod," Kyra said standing next to Jace. "He told you that he was your class mate for four classes and you're in math right now. C'mon use your brain." She walked past us and Jace followed her, not before turning to me to smile and wave.

School seemed to be longer than I ever expected it to be. I found out that I have three classes with Kyra and five with Jace, yet Jace only pursued me at lunch or in the halls. During class he acted like the perfect student, doing his work and writing plenty of notes. Hell he even corrected a teacher.

After school I decided to walk home instead of taking the bus. Markus was busy with the Bakery that he ran on the ground floor of our house and mom worked until 7:30 so I was on my own. As I was walking I noticed a dim red glow coming from my chest. I looked down and saw that the key was glowing red and flashing. I began to ignore it and continues home but the glowing just got brighter and brighter.

Eventually the key lifted up and hovered, tugging me towards an abandoned building. I followed it into the building because, in all honesty, I had nothing better to do. As I walked into the building I saw this large arch made out of dark black stone. The light that the key gave off was enough to show me the entire arch, including a keyhole on its right side. The key tugged at me to place it's self into the hole but this entire thing rubbed me the wrong way.

I tried to grab the key and make my way out, but the key burned me harshly. The key began to pull me towards the hole and I slipped my head out of the chain. I held onto the chain but it eventually slipped from my fingers and plunged itself into the hole. It turned itself to unlock the arch but instead flames began to pour out of the arch, one hit my arm and burned me. The arch began to make a red swirl beneath it and my stomach just plummeted.

Suddenly a dark claw stretched out and slammed down onto the ground, breaking the ground beneath it. Another one followed it before a large molten maw began to penetrate the portal along with the rest of the dragon's head. It towered above me, it's skin like molten magma with its horns and claws hardened into a black mineral. It's large maw opened as it roared, "Iktom rokuna vakerso meinkets."

I had no idea what language that was, all I knew was that I understood it, Finally, I roam Free. Is what the dragon roared before setting his eyes on me.
