"Ok, ok I got a good one!" My younger sister Lilly, giggled. We have been telling each other jokes for about an hour since it's a Saturday and both our parents are working. Mom works for the Nike company and dad is the manager of Starbucks. Since my parents usually work till about 9:00 p.m, I'm in charge of Lilly. We are pretty close sisters, more close than usual actually. Sometimes she gets annoying but it's times like this that I admire.

We decided to spend our day watching Netflix and tell each other silly jokes. "What do you call a person that doesn't like to fart in public?" I knew the answer to that but I wanted to hear it from Lilly thinking it would be funnier. "Um...I'm....Not....Sure..." Lilly giggled a little bit showing off her tiny teeth. "A PRIVATE TUTOR!"She exclaimed. We both burst into fits of laughter falling to the ground slowly. "Why did Adele cr-," before i could finish, I was rudely interrupted by the thunderous ringing of my iPhone. I held up a finger to Lilly signaling for her to wait.

"Hello?" I spoke softly slightly biting my nails. I didn't recognize the number so I was quite nervous. I'm the if-I-don't-recognize-the-number-I-won't-bother-to-answer kind of girl but I don't know why i chose to answer this one. "Hi! Paige Marie Sorrow?" I immediately knew something was wrong. My last name is "Sorrow" but I don't like it so i prefer for people to call me Paige Marie. I nodded my head slowly then i realized she couldn't see me so I replied shakily "yes."

"It seems to me that Jamie Sorrow, your mother I'm guessing, has been into a big accident. It caused some harsh damage to he br-" Omg! My mom got in an accident! The only woman that cared for me for so long got in an accident. Why us? Why my mom?

My hands slowly ran down the creamy colored wall nearby. Tears start to form in my eyes. I didn't want to cry, they didn't say she died. But what if she does! I let my thoughts get to me and I started sobbing. I want to go see my mother. I want to see her and hold her close. I want to see her shiny gold eyes that are just like mine. Before I knew it, I was out the door. Keys in my left hand and Lilly in the grip of my right. I noticed that she winced a little bit.

"Sorry," I mumbled. It's not safe to be driving with a minor in the car while your eyes are filled with salty water. But I didn't care what the voice inside my head was telling me. I just wanted to see my mom and that's all that mattered to me right now.
"Paigy where are we going? Why are you crying? Paigy it's not safe to drive while crying, I learned it last week in school!" Lilly kept on asking questions and at this point I was getting mad. I was angry that she wouldn't just be quiet and let me concentrate.
"WHERE ARE WE GOOOIINGGG?!?" That's it she just pushed my button."LILLY JUST SHUT THE HELL UP!"
I pound my hand against the steering wheel causing it to honk. I rarely curse but it just slipped right out of my mouth like a four year old running on a wet ground.

There is quiet sniffling in the back of my red car. As I looked in the slightly dusty mirror, Lilly had her hands over her slightly tan face, something she does when she's crying. I felt guilty, extremely guilty for that matter. I reached back to hold her mini hands but she refused and pulled back. I wanted to cry. Cry because my mom and cry because I never yelled at Lilly so harshly like that before.

I stopped in the parking lot of Hollowgill's Hospital. I turned around slightly so that my bum stayed in the same place but the rest of my body turned towards Lilly.

"Lilly I'm sorry. A lot of stuff has been happening and I guess I just let it out on you and I should've never done that." I watched as she leaned back into the cushioned seat. "It's ok. What kind of stuff?" I wasn't sure if I should tell her that our mom got in a really bad accident.

How would she react to that? I mean she's only 6 years old. So I decided to say ,"Something bad." She gave me a look that I didn't recognize. "Worse than someone taking a Barbie doll from you?" I giggled a little bit putting my head down and nodded in agreement. " Worse...."

I hesitated as I spoke the next sentence. "Lilly, mommy got in a car accident and she got hurt. It wasn't her fault but we gotta go visit her to make her all better ok?"
I looked back at Lilly. She had this weird expression but didn't say anything.

I took that time to grab her hand, lock the door, and walk into the hospital. My hands were shaking as I asked to see my mother. It smelt like rubber. You know the natural smell of those hospital gloves? A lady about in her mid thirties, led me to room 290. I stood in my spot as they opened the door I couldn't believe my eyes. "MOMMY!" Lilly started crying so hard. I walked towards the hospital bed very slowly every inch of my body shaking. Dad was already in the left side of her so I stood on the right. I burst into tears as I take her hand in mine.
"Mom?"
