The Day We Met

Fairytale Friendship

In life , we never really realize when you become friends from strangers and brothers from friends. That's what happened to me. This is one of the best of memories that is stored in one of the most illuminated corners of my brain.
From our school we were taken to a theatre for watching a movie, after the movie was over just before we were about to be ferried back to school, there were these random people who were clicking photographs. A guy - pretty much a stranger to me then, came up to me and said "Bro will you please click us a picture? " that was the moment when my life changed , that was the moment when I got introduced to one of the most precious things in my life. I agreed to click the picture and that was it, at that very moment I just felt a connection but ignored it.

Then we used to talk normally like normal people would generally do on social networking sites. Trust me, back then I didn't have any idea about how important he will be in my life. Then came 20th August, one of the days in my life which I call special, it was his birthday. The birth day of a boy without whom I cannot imagine a day in school. I wished him and gave him a chocolate that's when I was given one of my most loved names "Fatty". For some it may not sound good, but for me it was a name which upon hearing would make everyday a happy one. Well now it's too late for his introduction but still- he is a very tall guy, very athletic, with insane public speaking and leadership skills, and even a bigger foodie than me!. He wants to join the Air Force one day and serve his country just like his father.

My next best experience with him was when he offered his tie to me once. There was an event hosted by our school and I had to participate in it, that day I forgot to wear my tie and I was very scared as the teacher in charge would be very angry at me. He came up to me and said go on take my tie, at first I hesitated but he said that he had an extra tie so I took it. Later on I was just crawling the steps to the first floor when I saw him being scolded by the Teacher- In charge. I was really disheartened at it, when I asked him about it he just smiled and said "Leave it. Don't worry about that". That moment on I realised how much he cared for me. One day while talking to him I asked whether he will ever get married or not, the answer just literally stole my heart within a whisker, it was both merry as well as emotional at the same time. He said, "I'll join the army, if something happens to me, I don't want to spoil her life. I don't want her to suffer for life when there is no fault of her..... she should be able to enjoy life after me as well, with my end it shouldn't be the end of her happiness".

One day we had a small spat over a silly issue, it was my fault only and when I wanted to apologize he said I had to give him a hug. The next day when he hugged me, it was like the best thing on earth, my whole world was coloured by that hug. I believe wholeheartedly that the hug would stay with me forever. For me he is the best one can have. Sometimes now I tell myself "Who needs a love story? When one has a fairytale friendship like this". Now all I want to say is I love you and will love you forever... Mr Once Upon A Time Stranger.
