ELLA's POV

London!

“Lina, can you believe it? We are in London!”

“I can't believe it...” she answered, excited.

“We have to find professor Brooks.” I said.

“I'll call a taxi.”

***

We were driving around the streets of London with red buses passing by. It's so fun, I can't believe it. I don't know how we'll be able to see everything in such a short amount of time.

The taxi dropped us off in front of the school that we'll be going to. We grabbed our suitcases, crossed the road and entered through the glass front door. We went to the front desk and asked where we could find professor Brooks, our mentor. They pointed us to the first floor where we found a door with his name on it. We knocked.

“Come in.”

We opened the door and slowly walked inside.

“Hello girls. Ella and Lina, if I am not mistaken.”

“You are correct. I'm Ella.” I said while shaking his hand. Oh, what a charming man, I thought. He's probably 25 or 30 years old.

“And my name is Lina. Pleased to meet you.” my friend introduced herself and blushed a little. I instantly knew she was thinking the same thing. She can't hide anything from me when her cheeks turn to a bright shade of red, over which she is always complaining.

“So, let's start at the beginning.” Mr Brooks said.

He gave us detailed instructions about our classes, our accommodation and our free time. Afterwards, he handed us our keys and walked us over to our apartment, which was only a block away from the school.

“Well girls, tomorrow you have the day off, so that you can get settled in nicely. I am always available on my phone or in my office. You can see me there anytime you want. Have a nice day and I hope that you will enjoy your stay.”

“Thank you very much, you too have a nice day. And thank you for your kindness Mr Brooks.” I said.

“Oh, please, call me Tom. After all... I'm not that old.”

Lina and I smiled at his remark and agreed with him.

“What a nice man.” Lina said when he walked out the front door.

I unpacked everything. Now, I just have to put the suitcase in the wardrobe and... there... I'm done. Finally.

“Ella, come here.” Lina said looking out the window down on the street.

“What is it?”

“Come here quick. Look at how many girls have gathered in front of the building.” she said in disbelief.

“Whaaat?” I said and quickly ran to the window.

“What the hell?”

We looked at each other and started laughing. The girls were holding banners with something written on them. I could not make out what it was. More and more girls started coming and their screaming was becoming really annoying.

They were shouting “One Direction, One Direction...”

“One Direction?” I looked over at Lina.

“Who are they?” she asked, puzzled.

“I don't know.” I said and started laughing. “Now this is something you don't see every day.”

I grabbed my phone and googled One Direction. Thank God for the internet, I thought.

“One Direction are an English-Irish pop boy band, formed in the British televised singing competition The X Factor 2010. The group consists of Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson.”

“I guess they're very popular here.” Lina continued.

“I guess so.”

I started laughing at the top of my lungs. These girls would do anything for them and I didn't even know they existed.

“Lina, let's go out there and join the crowd.” I said. I knew Lina would immediately say yes.

“Sure, why not. Let's go.”

I opened the front door and stepped out into the corridor.

“Harry, where are you going?” I heard a voice coming from behind the door next to ours. I turned around and saw a guy with light hair and blue eyes, looking at me, smiling. Lina came out behind me.

“I heard him say Harry... didn't we just read that Harry is a member of One Direction?” I whispered to Lina.

“Yes.” she replied, getting excited.

We took a step back into our apartment.

“What a great way to start our...”

“Come on, let's go back outside. I wanna know what they look like.” Lina interrupted me.

“Lina!?”

She stepped outside. She was the type of girl who would always get in trouble no matter what. I went back into the kitchen and looked at the situation in front of the building. Madness. Complete and utter madness.

“Hey.” I heard a mans voice, coming from the stairway.

“Hi.” Lina replied.

What... what is going on? I said to myself and stepped closer to the door so that I could hear what they were saying.

“...are you?”

“Good, and you?” Lina replied.

“Great. I'm Harry, nice to meet you.”

“Lina, nice to meet you too. You're Harry, from... that band...whats it's called again? One... one... One Direction?”

“Yes, that's right. You don't know who we are?”

“Umm... I must admit I've never heard of you before. Weird, huh?”

“I don't know what to say... but yeah. You're not from around here right? I've never seen you before.”

“No, my friend and I came all the way from...”

“Harry, come on. You know what they said. We're not supposed to talk to fans.” someone else said from the appartment beside ours.

“Relax, she's not a fan. She doesn't know us. Please, continue.” Harry said.

“My friend and I are international exchange students. We'll be here for three weeks, studying, getting to know the city and...”

“... the people.” he added.

“Exactly.” she replied and laughed a little.

“Do you mind if I meet your friend?” Harry asked.

“Not at all, please, come in.”

Oh no. I quickly ran back into the kitchen and pretended like I haven't heard anything.

“Hello.”

“Hey.” I greeted back.

“So, you must be Lina's friend. I'm Harry, nice to meet you.”

“Yes, I'm Ella, nice to meet you too.” I was totally star struck when I laid eyes on him. He had such adorable curly hair and a nice smile.

Oh, I hope he didn't notice how embarrassed I was.
