Being adopted- 1

Hey. I'm Elizabeth, Liz for short. I'm a kid in care. But I didn't start there, actually pretty much no kid does in this care home. This is a care home for foster kids which no foster carers want. I've been kicked out of five foster homes all over Newcastle area, then finally put in here. It's not like I asked them to, or I wanted to run away all the time and wreck stuff. I need to. It's how I deal with all the bullshit going on in my life. It's ironic really. I was a goody too shoes until 14, then things got complicated, seeing my dad was impossible, nobody told me anything that was going on with my brothers and sisters because 'I couldn't handle it', and I turned to smoking, getting mortal, and getting high. I still do. Whatever. The kids here now bow down to me. Someday they want to be just like me. That makes me smile.
People are supposed to be coming to adopt a kid today, but no I won't be adopted, well I could but I wouldn't let them. Because as soon as I turn eighteen, I'm leaving Newcastle, and going to Morecambe to live with my dad. I'm not aloud to live with him now, apparently he can't be trusted. But whatever. They can't control me much longer, I turn eighteen in 1 year and 4 months, I have money for the journy and everything all saved up.
"EVERYONE ADOPTING HOUR!" Mrs McCain yelled from downstairs, usually people tell us when they are coming but occasionally people just turn up at adopting hour so we have to be prepared
I quickly put my 5sos hoodie on and my headphones in and trudge downstairs. I can't wait till it's over so I can sneek out for a tab, I'm dying.
************************************
About half an hour into adoption hour and two couples have been and gone each taking a very happy kid with them. And the expected visitors are due.
"Kids quick in a line, eldest to youngest," Mrs McCain pushes us after coming from the direction of the front door.
We all shuffle in line some.Kids looking hopeful, some looking not so hopeful.Smart. Expect the least of something and you're never hurt or disappointed.
I hear four Australian accents talking, which sound really familiar. Weird. I look up from my phone I've been typing on while Mrs McCain was glaring at me and my jaw dropped. Right in front of me. Stood the 5 seconds of summer. The whole band. Grinning at us all. Maybe I'll be able to get a picture before they leave. Wait. Why are they adopting someone? Ashton's only just 21, and he's the eldest. Ok wow. This is creepy.
I just stare at them. While Mrs glared at me. Whoops.
After a few minutes if them talking to one another they went to Mrs McCain and said something to her.
"Right can all people under the age of 15 please leave the room," a bunch of kids left the room, sour faced.
There were five of us left, me being the youngest.
Mrs McCain looked at me, and frowned. "Right, I'm, you're all going to have a five minute talk with them in my office alone, eldest to youngest." She said.
I smirked. She did that so they didn't want to adopt me. Well good.

About 20 minutes later Mrs McCain called me in, I flipped my purple hair over my shoulders and walked in.
"So I'm ash-" Ashton began but I cut him off.
"I know who you are, I don't live under a rock" I said.
Michael grinned slightly, Calum sniggerd and Luke's face was bright red trying to contain his laughter. Ashton pouted.
"You're supposed to be on my side guys!" He exclaimed to the other lads.
"Sorry dude, it was funny," Michael said.
Ashton pouted again making me laugh.
"So, down to business," Luke said.
"Oh I don't do business studies, too boring," I stated.
"As I was saying," Luke said giving me a pointed look.
"What?" I asked " I was only saying business is boring," I looked at Luke who was now glaring at me, "sorry," I said.
"No, it's okay, you were just trying to make serious face happy," Calum piped up.
I sniggerd.
Luke was trying so hard to contain his laughter at this point, and Micheal digged him in the ribs and he broke out in laughter.
"I like you," luke smiled at me.
"Thanks I'm here till Thursday," I said mocking a bow.
"It is Thursday," Ashton pointed out.
"Well then I'm not here anymore then," I laughed.
" I love your hair," Michael gushed, " where did you get that shade?"
"Uh, dude, purple isn't your colour, " Calum said.
Michael pouted "meanie," he whispered.
"Well I think it'd suit you really well Micheal," I said "but your fans enjoy your red hair, so they can call you Clifford the big red dog,"
"I loved that program," he exclaimed.
Mrs McCain walked in "Times up Liz, go join the other kids,"
*******************************
10 minutes later the boys walk in grinning with Mrs McCain who has an unreadable expression.
"Liz, go pack your stuff, you're being adopted," she stated.
I laughed, "haha very funny,"
"I wasn't kidding Elizabeth,"
"No, because you promised, I'm going to live with my dad when I'm 18 I can't get adopted," I started to get mad.
" I said I would try, I'm sorry Liz." She said.
I glared at her, fine I'll just be so bad they'll send me back.
"Fine," I said glaring daggers at her, "but you don't get kicked out of 5 foster homes for nothing,"
I storm upstairs and pack my stuff, including my money, tabs, vodka (in a water bottle I'm too smart ) , and weed. I dragged the suitcase downstairs to see they band waiting for me.
"Lets go" I said in a sickly sweet voice.
