(Phoebe Tonkin as Thoe)
-
The poor human boy struggled as I dragged him to the bottom of the ocean. My hazel eyes turned into a deep red as I thought about my next meal. Tiny bubbles escaped from his mouth right before I sank my fangs into his neck.  I would've felt bad for him, he was an attractive boy. But his blood was too sweet and I couldn't control myself.

My brother and I don't have to kill to drink someone's blood, it's just if we can't control ourselves and drain all of their blood, well... then they die.

After finishing with the boy, I swam up to the surface. Making sure no one was around to see me, I pulled myself up onto the sandy beach and waited for myself to dry. After drying off and getting my legs back, I turned towards the deep, blue ocean that captured the reflection of the full moon in the sky.

That boy was my fifth kill tonight. I couldn't help myself, the moon does crazy things to my kind. It's like it takes over your body and you have absolutely no control over your actions.

Judging by the absence of cars on the road by the shore, it must've been after 8 o'clock. As the night goes on, the full moon is at its strongest, so I decide to head back to my house.

Diving back into the black ocean, I swam back to my brother and I's house. But not before pulling an innocent woman out of her canoe. That's what she gets for canoeing at night.

"Kai, I'm home!" I yelled to my brother. He was blasting his favorite rock band in his room so he probably didn't hear me.

As soon as I got upstairs, I went and banged on Kai's door. After a few seconds, the door swung open and an exhausted looking Kai stood in the doorway with messed up hair.

"I'm surprised you're not out there in the water," I said to him.

"I know, it's so hard trying to hold myself back. I didn't want to go out there because the amount of bodies that will wash up on shore after tonight will be crazy suspicious," he explained.

"I guess that's true," I sighed.

"I see you went out for a swim," he said, touching my wet hair.

"Yeah, I got six!" I said, holding up six fingers.

"Thoe!" Kai gasped with fake disappointment. I know it's kind of cruel that my brother and I have no regrets about our killings, but it's just what we do. We were born that way.

"Anyways....I'm gonna go... Do something," I told Kai.

"Alright, don't do what I think you will!" He shouted as I began to walk away.

"Believe me, I will!" I shouted back before I went out of the back door. I walked to the dock we had that led out to the creek we had in our backyard and then dove into the water.

Being in the water is magical. The feel of the water against your skin and the way the light reflects off of your tail. And the best thing about it is that you're in a whole different world. You can forget about your worries and become a whole different person. Which is literal in my case. But the best thing about it is being in the water at night. You never know what's going to be lurking around the corner and that gives me such a thrill. I love mystery, and the water gives me just that.

I was swimming around for a while until something caught my eye. There was someone out on their dock, just looking out on the water. Just then, the wind started to blow and the most mouth watering scent flooded my nose. And I knew it was the guy on the dock. They stood there for a moment before going back inside of their home. The boy intrigued me so I decided to stay for a while. I swam up closer to the house until I was right by his dock and popped my head up above the water so only my eyes were visible. The boy was now up in what I assumed to be his room and was taking off his shirt by the window.

He was hot.

'If only I got here quicker!' I thought. 'He could've been mine,'

I took one last glance towards the boy in the window, then headed back to my house.

His blood smelled so sweet, nothing I've ever smelled before. And I want it.

When I got home, the house was quiet and I figured Kai was asleep. The doofus was such a bore after 9 o'clock.
I went up to my room and threw on some comfy clothes so I could get into bed. I would've taken a bath, but I didn't feel like waiting for my tail to dry off when I got out.

Before falling asleep, the last thought on my mind was that boy I came across tonight.

Who was he?

So this was like an introduction to get the story. Hope you guys like this one! I haven't really written darker stories like this one, so I'm interested to see how this turns out! Also, Thoe's name is pronounced like Flo but with the th sound.
