(Francisco Lachowski as Kade Hawthorn)

Seriously, could this lady just leave us alone?!

I groaned and smacked my forehead before opening the door.

"Yes, Mrs. Ledford?" I asked.

"You know, your brother and you are going to have to go to school sooner than later," Mrs. Ledford.

"What are you talking about, lady?"

"You're not over 18, you have to be in school. And it would be unfortunate if someone were to find out, wouldn't you say?" She taunted. Witch.

"Yes, it would be," I said through clenched teeth.

"I'm going to find out what you and your brother are up to. We don't need any more trouble in this town," Mrs. Ledford said.

"I can assure you, there is no trouble going on inside of this home," I told her.

"I suggest you do something about this high school dilemma before I step into it." Haven't you already?

"Whatever, Mrs. Ledford." I groaned.

"Have a nice-" I slammed the door before I heard anything else.

The nerve of that lady! How dare she come to my home and threaten to expose us. I mean who cares that we don't go to school?

"Kai!" I screamed up the steps.

"What?" He screamed back. He came down the steps and stood in front of me.

"We have an issue. Mrs. Ledford is threatening to get us in trouble for not attending school," I explained to him.

"Well shit," Kai sighed. He ran a hand through his dark hair, which only made it messier. We only intended to stay hidden from everyone else, but I guess our plan backfired and it brought more attention to us.

"We need to do something about it," I said.

"No shit, Thoe," Kai teased. That made me punch him in the arm.

"You're a dîck, you know?" I told Kai.

"A big one," He smirked.

"Oh god, I wish I could erase that from my memory," I groaned. "Anyways, you need to get us enrolled in that high school or whatever soon."

"I'll be right on it," Kai said. And by that, he meant I'll do it next week.

"Now, you lazy âss," I said.

"Yeah, yeah," He muttered before going out of the front door.

My god, what did Mrs. Ledford get us into?

-

By the time Kai came back, we were both now enrolled to Clearwater High or whatever the high school was named.

"We start tomorrow. The lady at the front desk said our books should be in our lockers tomorrow morning and that she'll send a student on the welcoming committee to show us around. She did look confused on why we are starting so late in the year," Kai informed me. "Oh, and we have to be there by 7:50"

If I had something in my mouth, I would've spit it out all over Kai's chest.

"What the fûck!?" I screamed. I absolutely hated waking up early. It was pretty close to the number one spot on the list of things I hate. Number one was being out of the water for too long.
