So talk can thank aftermat for being the first commenter. This is just a little inventive one to try to give you a litle background on ember. Sorry that it's so short.

Ember's pov: in my bed, with Mathew, crying after he asked me about my past*tears stream down face on to mathews warm, strong chest.
True Love does not exist.
I have been telling myself this since I was little. I saw first hand what happens when you promise your love to someone; your heart is forcefully torn out of your chest and you are left to search for it for the rest of your life. Few are lucky enough to have a world were love is pure, untainted by the cruelty of life.My parents were not one of the lucky few. My dad filled in the space a in my memory of the divorce.
Our family was oficialy ripped apart When I was five just about to start kindergarten. The rift between my parents started to grow when on my fourth birthday. My mom had come home drunk. A lot of the time you hear of the drunck father abusing his wife and children. But since my dad didn't come home till late, my mother would beat me till she wasn't drunk. She would threaten me, so we would keep it hidden from father. On my fourth birthday My father was going to surprise us by coming home early. My mother hadn't had time to clean me and was in the middle of slapping my face when he walked in. From what my dad said, he could smell the alcohol on her and immediately ran out the door with me. My mom ran out crying, begging him to let her explain. But my dad was already pulling out of the driveway.
After a few weeks of meeting with the doctor and talking to child welfare my dad called my mother to get her side of the story. We tried to be a normal family again, dad came home earlier, my mom didn't come home drunk, and I didn't show my fear of my mother to any one.
I remember that I could see and feel the hate my mother had years a me for telling "our little secret" as she called it.
Later on in the year my dad caught my mom cheating on him. No matter how hard my dad tried it was inevitable. The got the divorce papers were made official a couple weeks after I started kindergarten.
At first it was joint custody. But then my mom...
No. No. No. I will NOT go there.Wait what time is it?
Crap it's 3:00 again. I'm such a fool. Thinking about stupid memories again. Tommorow is going to be a long, hard day.
