"I'm going to start. Do you know what your name is?" I thought for a second, I didn't ask myself that question yet. Let's see if I remember ... oh yeah! There it is! I guess. I wriggled my thumb again.
"Very good, very good. Do you remember the last thing you were doing?" The last thing I was doing? Ah I guess I do. I moved my thumb once again. "That's really good Miss. It seems like you memory didn't get damaged too much. Is it alright if I continue asking questions on what happened?" I moved my thumb.
"Did you know that the light was red?" I moved my thumb.
"Did you cross the road knowingly?" I moved my thumb again.
"Why-... No... Did you try to commit suicide?" they asked, there voice was trembling a bit. I wriggled all my fingers in their hand. They sighed in relief.
"Good, that's good. Miss I'm going to let someone you know in the room, it's the last person that called you before you where brought here. It wasn't you who answered the phone so if you don't know who it is it's alright. But before that I would like to ask you to try to move other parts of your body." I moved my thumb to let him know that I will try "Start from your toes and go slowly up. Miss, you should try at least thrice before moving on. Did you understand?" I wriggled my thumb.
They didn't let go of my hand even if took quite some time, they just regularly said "Good." and "You're doing great." I could feel that I could move my left knee but something was holding it so I couldn't move. If only that thing wasn't there I could have moved my knee. It seemed like the person knew what part of the body I was working on because once I arrived at the hip I was about to start with the shoulders, but he told me not to forget my tummy so I did. I was so happy to feel my tummy go up and down as I asked him to.
"You're doing really well Miss."They said once I moved my fingers again to let him notice I was finished. "So as it seems you can move your left hand freely, tummy, left knee, your right fingers are slowly starting to move too and your hip and neck are also on a good way." They said pressing my hands a bit. "I will know let the person I talked about earlier enter." They let go of my hand.
I heard a door open and close a little after, someone whispered and someone came holding my hand. "Hi." Someone said happily. "Do you recognize my voice?" they asked. That is indeed a good question. It does seem like I knew their voice but it also felt like I didn't. So I wriggled my thumb, then all my fingers, then my thumb again and all my fingers. I did that a few times hoping they would understand.
"You're not sure?" I wriggled my thumb happy my message arrived correctly. I felt something moving on my eyes, I was in the midst of thinking what it could be as they called for the other person. "Excuse me! Her eyelids are trembling." they said excited. The other person came again and started talking again.
"Miss, are you ok?" I wriggled my thumb. "It's a yes." said the person that was holding my hands. "Good, you're doing good. Would you like to try to stop your eyelids from trembling?" he asked and I wriggled my thumb once again. I love challenging myself, and since I didn't know why my eyelids were trembling it seemed like it'll be harder than expected.
