Chapter 5

"Thank you, Mrs.Witfield. That was good.", I said taking the last piece of fried chicken off my plate.

"Well get used to it, darling, you live here now."

I smiled and took my plate to the sink.

"I'll wash the dishes if you want."

"Oh silly girl. Go wash up. I got it."

"Okay."

"Oh we have five extra rooms unless you decide to sleep in James's room."

James's smiled.

"I got a lot of room."

"Yeah okay. I'll sleep in James's room I guess."

"Okay."

I followed James up to his room.

"The computer is right there."

"Thanks."

I went to Google and searched up my name. A couple of people popped up but they were older women in like their fifties. I know I died. I remember the feeling of life leaving my body. But I don't think my name was Lauren. Something in my gut is telling me that I had a different name. I hacked into the foster care system's website. I typed in the name of the girl from before.

"What? It was here yesterday!!", I said in disbelief as I started to tear up.

"What?! What happened?!", James said rushing into the room.

"Its gone... everything I found is gone.", I said sniffling.

"Its ok Kalani. You'll find out soon."

A/N: Pause. Rewind. Play that back.

"Excuse me, what?", I sniffled looking at him confused.

"Nothing.", he placed my head back on his shoulder. He paused.

"Did that name sound familiar to you?"

"...No", I said unsure.

"Lilioukalani, dumb ass.", a voice in my head said.

Wait.

Thats the name of the girl that... oh my God!!

She died. I died.

I got hit by a car so did she.

Am I that girl?

Maybe I am a dumb ass.

How did I not notice this?

"Because they injected you with that serum.", James said looking at me.

And how did James know me? He obviously did. For Christ sake he called me kalani!!

"You do realize that your speaking out loud?", he said looking at me.

"And I'm your guardian."

Thats when it hit me.

My name is not Lauren Cholkovich.

My name is Lilioukalani.

Lilioukalani Davis.

A/N: Y'all are probably a little confused right now but ima help y'all out so that y'all understand what's happening. All of this was a flashback. Remember in the first chapter she said all it took was one blow to the head? It was a flashback of what happened. Now the flashback is over. I'm gonna edit it and change the font. I've been updating on my computer and my dumb ass dont know how to change the font. So yeah.
