I drove surprisingly fast on my way to Star Bucks, or, as Em would call it: normal. I am normally a relatively slow, cautious driver. I think I was just excited to tell Emily about my encounter at the park. This was a big deal for me.

When I got there, I rushed inside to find that my best friend had not made it to there yet. I turned around to find her pulling into the parking lot. A huge grin appeared on my face.

I jogged outside to meet up with her. I hugged her excitedly as she got out of the car, even though we live together and I saw her just this morning.

"Whoa," she surprisingly exclaimed. "What's all the excitement about?"

"I'll tell you when we sit down," I replied. "You have a pretty long story coming your way."

"Alrighty, then"

We walked into the coffee shop and got in line. I scanned the menu for something that sounded appetizing. For some reason, I felt like changing up my coffee order. Something other than regular, hot coffee. Something sweeter.

I decided to get a mocha cookie crumble. That sounded promising. I walked up to the cashier and crossed my fingers under the counter to ensure that my choice was a good one. Em did the same as me.

When we were done ordering, I paid, as it was my turn to pay. And, we walked over to the other counter to wait for our drinks.

" Alright, what is the big story?" she asked.

"I don't want to start telling you until we sit down," I replied. "It'll ruin the mood."

"Well, at least tell me what the mood is."

"Okay. First, it's really sad. Then, extremely happy and exciting. Then, even more happy and exciting," I informed her with a smile plastered on my face.

"Ooooh! Sounds exciting!" she said as we grabbed our drinks and started walking towards a table with two empty seats.

Right as we sat down, I immediately started spilling. I had a long story to tell her and I wasn't going to waste any time. And it took me all of 30 minutes to fill her in with all of her side comments and questions. Let me tell you, that girl had tons of those.

When I had finally finished filling her in, she just sat there, looking like she had just finished reading Catching Fire. Her jaw was on the cold tiles, her eyes were wider than I'd ever seen them, and she stopped breathing. The usual in and out motion of her chest had paused and she was grip on the table was so tight, I didn't know how it hadn't shattered under the pressure.

*Emily's POV*

I just stopped. I couldn't move; I couldn't breath; I could barely think. All these questions ran through my mind: What is wrong with that jerk, Jason?! She met who?! Why wasn't I there with her? He said what? I'm going to meet who tomorrow?!

I was the luckiest girl on the planet. I was still very sad, and angry, for my friend. But then again, Jason was the reason that she met Harry Styles and that we are both going to meet One Direction.

When I finally started breathing again, I smiled, stood up, and without a word, just gave Rose a hug. We didn't verbally say anything, but we did have a silent conversation, kind of like telepathy, but not really, that went a little bit like this:

Me: I'm so sorry about Jason. We can do our break-up ritual tonight.

Rose: It's okay. And, alrighty. Can't wait!

Me: Thank you for getting me this chance! For both of us!

"Actually, lets thank Jason and Harry. We can do it tonight!" she said out loud.

"Okayyy," I replied.

I loved it when we could have dialogue without uttering a word. It just felt so private and personal. I mean, we're best friends. We have been since the third grade. It's no wonder that we can read each other's minds and body languages and even hugs.
