Chapter twelve

hunters P.O.V.

I heard a twig snap in the distance and he smell of rogues. I got in front of Avery like the superman I was. Stop it hunter focus there are rogues around here. I shifted into my all black wolf and growled.

A man came out of the shadows. Avery's so called father, what was his name again? Chris or Charlie.

"So I meet my daughters mate" he said in a sickly voice" I'm Charles." He said with an evil grin. "Such a shame ill have to kill you." He shrugged. What?!?

"I'm not your daughter!" Avery growled at him.

I barred my teeth. "Besides" Avery continued "I wouldn't leave with you ever. You won't be killing my mate either. You can't take both of us Charles" she smeared his name venom full in her voice.

She looked ready to kill. Literally.

Remind me not to get on her bad side.

"Don't worry daughter. I will have you soon enough." He turned to me " and I'll take care of you latter. Watch out. This was only a warning." He shifted and lunged toward me.

"Hunter look ou-" Avery started.

He bite the scruf of my neck and threw me against a tree. I have to help Cassi!

"A warning" Charles said before retreating into the forest. Then all I saw was everything really blurry

Then I blacked out .

Avery's P.O.V.

Hunter shifted back to human form. He was bleeding heavily and panting. I started crying and hugged hunter.

My poor mate.

"No! Please hunter wake up! I love you!" I cried. I said it. I love hunter. I smiled at myself for admitting it but quickly stopped again. I used my werewolf speed to get hunter and carried him back to the pack house. I saw my mom and called for her. We had become very close lately catching up on the lost 16 years that were missed.

"Mom, please help! Hunter was bit by Charles I need help! Do your spell thing." She looked at me sadly.

"I'm sorry Cassi. I can only help my mate."
