Carrie Hill walked through the front doors of her school and instantly heard that everyone was riled up about something. "Oh, Carrie! Did you hear the news?" Said Annalise, the reigning queen of drama.
"What, that we're having a new vegetarian menu in the cafeteria?"
"What? No, that's not it...Jessica Lindon is MISSING!"
"Oh wait, isn't she the one that always complains about how the cheerleaders need their own lunch table?"
"Well, yeah, how else would we plan out our new routines?"
"Thanks for the update, Annalise, but I think I should get to my locker."
Carrie turned away and walked up the stairs to get to the second floor. Missing? Considering Jessica has a posse of at least 5 around her at all times that's pretty hard to believe. Just as she began to get her first period books, she felt a hand cup her mouth. Just as she was about to scream, she heard a voice say "Miss me?".
"Hey!" She cried excitedly as she turned to face her boyfriend, Laine.
"I saw you talking to Annalise, what was that about?"
"Apparently Jessica Lindon went missing last night, but I don't know if it's true or not. Annalise is known for her...personality." They both laughed and as she said this Carrie's friend, Emma, walked up to them.
"It's a real shame, she could've won prom queen for sure."
Laine pushed his forehead against Carrie's and whispered "I think Carrie would be a better queen."
She rolled her eyes and they started to laugh again.
"Oh shoot, we have 5 minutes, we'd better get to class guys." Emma said and began to power walk towards the stairs.
"See you at lunch, beautiful." Laine whispered to Carrie as he turned to walk down the hallway. Carrie had completely forgotten about the Jessica Lindon situation and finally headed towards her class as well.
