A few hours later Joe was still waiting with everyone, the baby was now down in the nursery after everyone had a hold of him. The doctor came out of Demi’s room and walked over to everyone to speak to them about Demi. Joe noticed the doctor standing there and got up and walked over to her.
Joe: “What’s going on?”
Doctor: “Hi I’m the doctor; who’s being looking after Demi. My name is Addison.”
Joe: “Look I don’t care what your name is, just tell me what is going on and is Demi ok.”
Addison: “She’s stable at the moment, but she stopped breathing before and we got her back to breaking normally. You can go and see her if you like. She’s asleep.”
Joe: “Thank you and I’m sorry I got upset.”
Addison: “It’s alright and it’s normal.”
Addison walked away and Joe told everyone and he was the first person to go and see her. Once he walked in, his heart skipped a beat just by looking at her pale and fragile body. He sat down in the chair near the bed, he also grabbed a hold of her tiny hand and held it with his.
Joe: “Ohh Dems I’m glad you’re Ok; you just gave me a scare there for a moment.”
Demi felt his hand holding her and slowly opened her eyes and saw Joe sitting there. She gave him a small smile then realized something was missing and tried to get up.
Joe: “Hey, hey it’s Ok… just lay down.”
Demi: “The baby.” (Whispers)
Joe: “Is fine and is sleeping in the nursery.”
Demi: “I want to see him.”
Joe: “Ok; I’ll call a nurse to get him.”
Demi: “Ok.”
Half and hour later a nurse came in wheeling a hospital cot with a tiny baby sleeping inside.
Sam: “Hi, I’m Sam the nurse; I bought your baby to you.”
Joe: “Thank you.”
Joe got up and grabbed the baby out of the cot and held him. He walked over to the bed and placed him into Demi’s waiting arms. The nurse left them to it and Joe sat back in his chair and watched Demi with their beautiful baby boy.
Demi: “He’s so tiny Joe.”
Joe: “I know; so what do you want to name him.”
Demi: “I’m not sure; how about James.” (Said while looking at him)
Joe: “Sorry I don’t like James; I was thinking about Claudio.”
Demi: “Aww I love it Joe.” (Smiles at Joe)
Joe: “So what happens now?”
Demi: “Well I live with my Mum and you can come and see him whenever you want.”
Joe: “Yea, but that’s not the same as seeing him every day.”
Demi: “Well what do you want to do?”
Joe: “I want you and Claudio to move back in with me.”
Demi: “And what about Ashley.”
Joe: “We broke up because after you moved out things weren’t the same and she saw that I didn’t love her.”
Demi: “Oh so you came here to what.” (Having trouble getting the right words out)
Joe: “I came here to watch my son being born and to be with the woman I love.”
