Stay with me (Stalia fan-fic)

The talk

They stated at each other for a few seconds, Stiles then spoke up.

"Um...Malia you can probably already know but I'm  really sorry I honestly have mixed feelings about all this." He stated, trying to piece together what he could possibly say.

Malia was quite, you could tell she was thinking hard about her response "You might feel a little bit of regret maybe even sadness but you know what else you are feeling right now?'

"what?" Stiles questioned, growing impatient after Malia's hesitation.

"Happiness, joy, love," stated Malia "but not because of me, not because you're with me."

"What do you mean?" Stiles questioned again, becoming agitated by Malia's 'riddles'.

"I mean you don't love me you like you love Lydia, Even If your trying to resist it I can still see it. Who am I kidding everyone can see it." Malia finished, resisting the tears stinging her tired eyes.

"Of course I still love her, I-I mean yeah I love her but I love you more." Stiles said, mildly frustrated with himself for not clearing this up sooner.

"Well my father always said you can't love two people at once, he would know," Malia started " I think you have loved Lydia this whole time and I was just a substitute to distract you"

Malia couldn't it, tears clouded her vision, if Stiles would have never spoken up she would have thought he left her. Again.

"Please Malia you-you've gotta listen to me..." Stiles pleaded, even though he had no idea what to say. He couldn't let her go.

"Please don't contact me, don't talk to me in class, pretend I don't exist." you could barley understand her, the words sounded like they were forced out of her.

Stiles wanted to plead again, to tell her how much she means, but she was gone. She was gone and he didn't know if she was coming back.

Stiles walked to his bed and just thought, her words playing over and over in his head.

"Pretend I don't exist." if only she knew how hard that would be.
