Chapter 8: First Task: Part 2

            Percy breathed hard. Viktor Krum, Harry, and Fleur Delacour had just gone, and it was Cedric's turn. Percy was facing the Lydian Drakon after Cedric, followed by Annabeth with her basilisk. I could tell she memorized her plan, for she was helping me with mine. Unfortunately, I won't see her in action. Either I would be injured, or driven out of Hogwarts, with her in tow. Once the crowd cheered profusely, a man pulled me into the arena. The Drakon was watching me with disgust, ready to decimate me. I was ready with the Yankees cap in my hand. Once the announcer yelled "GO!" I was putting on the Yankees cap and vanishing. The crowd gasped except for Draco Malfoy, the Weasleys, and Luna Lovegood, who knew that l was a demigod, because they were demigods themselves. I felt a familiar tug in my gut and obliged, controlling the water in the blood of the Drakon, making it freeze to death, but much faster. I then made the once mighty Lydian Drakon explode, like a destroyed ice sculpture. I pulled off the Yankees cap, which made the crowd gasp once more. I finally waltzed Persassily to the golden egg and swept it into my arms, while the crowd cheered for me.

Annabeths POV

I was starting to worry, until the cheering started. I quickly ran my plan through my mind and took a deep breath. My plan was to use a stunning spell then, quickly cut them through with my bronze dagger, getting the egg easily. I heard my alias "Hermione Granger" called and walked up to the opening of the arena, wand in hand. Once the announcer said go, I quickly brought out my wand and aimed it at the basilisk, which was eyeing me dangerously. I then said a simple stunning spell, pulled out my celestial bronze dagger, and made quick work of decapitating it. I grabbed the egg, then waltzed out of the arena, leaving the crowd shocked and cheering to my brown contact and brown wig disguised self.

          Percy's POV

          Once we managed to get away from the crowd, me, Anabeth, and the Weasleys quickly Iris-messaged camp, specifically Thalia. We told her about the task, and she was seemingly impressed that I faced the Lydian Drakon and lived. Me and Annabeth showed her the egg and I told her "Why do we need to get this dam egg!"
She grinned her Thalia grin and responded with " And while we're at it, let's get some dam french fries!" Annabeth, who wasn't there, only stared blankly in response while me and Thalia nearly died from laughter. I then followed up with " I need to use the dam restroom!" This continued for hours until it was time to go. "Bye Thalia!" We shouted as we went to sleep, ready for the day ahead.
