The dark abyss of an entrance was uninviting in every sense of the word.

"We'll be fiiiine," said Mikey, dragging out his words.

"I'm more worried about the little babies, not you," laughed Ali from the other side of the walkie talkie.

"Just make your way here with Konnor. We might need your help by the time you get here," explained Mikey.

"Can we go in yet," groaned August as he sat on the forest floor with his legs crossed, sharpening his blade with a grindstone.

"Yeah, we're going in. Now please, keep calm, August!" Laughed Mikey.

"Yes! Let's do it," said August as he prepared to storm the cave.

"There's something you're forgetting, though, August," Alice pointed out.

"What would that be," said August as he let out a sigh.

"You're afraid of the dark," said Alice with a cocky grin.

"It's not a fear!" Yelled August. "It's just a strong aversion! And besides," he continued. "You never know what kinda creepy stuff is in the dark... like that old story about the tall, creepy tentacle guy in a suit!"

"What are you talking about?" Sighed Alice.

"Never mind," sighed August in return as he hopped over a small hole in the cave floor.

The deeper the group got inside, the darker and more ominous the inhospitable cave became. August took some initiative and lit a flame within the palm of his own hand. The comforting and warm light brought ease to the other two, helping set their nerves aside.

"Guys," began Mikey. "remember not to get cocky in there. It might feel easy right now but you'll never know what we'll have to deal with."

"I can handle that but I can't speak for August," responded Alice as a smug grin took residence on her face once more.

"Hmph," grunted August as he picked up his own pace in an attempt to leave Alice at the back of the group.

The trail through the cave seemed to be endless and the group began to get restless. Alice was the first to desire turning back but August and Mikey would have no such thing.

They dragged her along despite her protests and curse words being muttered beneath her breath.

At last, after what very well could have been slightly less than fifty minutes of walking, the group reached the centre of the cave.

It was dark, murky and certainly unwelcoming. This place would most likely serve for a troublesome battle.

"August, what's your gut saying now, huh? This place is completely empty, idiot," Alice grunted.

"Just cause you can't see it, don't mean it ain't here!" August snapped.

"Guys, keep a cool head. If there actually is something in here, then we're only making ourselves susceptible to an attack," Mikey pointed out.

Just then, the sound of small rocks falling to the ground could be heard. Soon after, the pounding of heavy paws on the cave floor was heard as well.

"What are you greenhorns doing in my humble abode?" Asked a shady voice. "Mikasa es mikasa," said the voice.

"Who's there?" Asked Mikey.

"I thought there was a wolf in this cave," August pointed out.

"Oh, believe me," began the voice. "There's definitely some form of a wolf in here."
