What is this funny thing called fate,
Being at the right place, right time, right date,
Or is it against all odds finding that one soul mate?
Is it heavenly, of the divine kind,
Or is it all rubbish, all in our mind?
What is this thing some call the grand design?
Right choice, wrong place, it's a fine line,
Or is it these messages we desperately look for, a sign?
Are all our actions, thoughts, lives linked,
Or is it the opportunities we've missed when we've blinked?
What is this idea that has such an crazy effect?
Seven billion people in the world, something's got to connect,
Or is it the choices we make, the chances we select?
Are all our pasts entwined, down to the last incident,
Or is it all just a big coincidence?
Now I don't think there's a detailed plan,
For every woman, child and man,
I simply believe we have more control over our lives than we like to admit,
Afraid of the potential we'll unleash, what possibilities we might permit.
