Chapter eleven

Chapter 11

Sorry I haven't updated in a while I've been sick and very busy so I hope this is good:)

Katie's POV

I woke up to my alarm and I heard Liv getting out of bed. Aw man I thought I'm going back to school today. Liv walked in, "you ready?" She said with a kind smile as I hopped out of bed. "As I'll ever be" I responded.

I grabbed my jeans with the holes in the knees, my plum colored sweater, long sleeves cuffed at the wrist of course, a white scarf and my black boots. I went to the bathroom and loosely French braided my hair and left when I was satisfied.

I walked into the kitchen and grabbed my black Hershel backpack and swung it to my shoulders. Liv handed me a breakfast bar and a water bottle. "Thanks" I said as I slipped my bagged lunch into my backpack.

We headed down stairs in the elevator to the parking garage. Liv unlocked the car and we both got in and I placed my bag in my lap and unwrapped the bar. Liv started the car and turned the heat on as high as it went "burrr" she said jokingly, I laughed, "i can't feel my toes! Ah" I replied as she started to pull out of the spot we were in. She giggled at my attempt.

I finished my breakfast bar on the way to school as I watched the snow flurries hit the wind shield. "We aren't supposed to get much snow until the end of the week" Liv mentioned as she watched my fascination, I was glad because then we might get off school. Liv pulled up in front of PS81  and I opened the car door and let the cool breeze fill the car. I turned to Liv and she held both my hands a gave me a kiss goodbye, "I'll see you as soon as you get out" she said looking at me with her big brown eyes "okay mom, love you" I said as I got out of the car. She pulled away toward the precinct and I took a deep breath as I filed into to the kids going into the school.

*inside the school*

I stood at my locker, it took me a few tries to open it. 14-28-2 I repeated as I filled up my bag with all my morning books. "English, Spanish, Health" I said to myself quietly as I remembered each binder. I zipped up my bag, closed my locker and sat against it putting one of my headphones in until I heard the bell *beep beep beep*
"Here we go" I said standing up. I walked to first period, honors English, with one of my favorite teachers Miss.Maphis, she had red hair and blue green eyes, average height and in her 30's, she was so pretty. I sat down at my desk in the back of the dull classroom and starting the writing assignment, I looked at the whiteboard and it read "write about the most important person in your life." Hmm I thought Liv? Yeah Liv.

*some time passes*

I finished the assignment just as the bell rang and I dropped it I the metal bin as I left the room. The rest of the day was a blur except for lunch.

*Lunch* I walked into the cafeteria looking for Payton, then I remembered, so I decided to go to the library. I sat down in the back of the maze of bookshelves and opened up my brown bag and pulled out a small salad and some strawberries. I ate a couple bites of the salad and finished the strawberries, I still had 20 minutes so I popped in my earbuds and set a timer so I wouldn't miss the bell. Before I could take out my homework I saw four people start to approach me, Payton, Brenna, Jene and Auggie, "shit" I said under my breath as slipped on my glasses. "What do you guys want?" I said trying to keep my voice from breaking. "So crisscross is back" Auggie said disregarding my comment, the rest of them laughed until Brenna stepped forward "guess so, come on let's see Katie what did you do" she said tauntingly then she started to grab at my sleeves and I couldn't stop her and before I knew it Jene and Auggie had stepped in and pulled up my sleeves displaying my uneven cuts and stitches, Payton was no where to be found. "Stop! Stop it" I got increasingly louder until tears were spilling down my cheeks "Stop Auggie" I yelled but no one could hear, the library was empty and teachers were rarely around. I kept struggling and with that my glasses fell off and Benna stepped on them once they finally got off of me, the were destroyed, I was still crying as they left, laughing triumphantly. I started gasping for air and I started to panic until I remembered what Liv had said, it was like she was there and then I felt hands on my shoulders it was Miss.Maphis, "hey hey look at me, Katie are you okay" she said in a panic "ya, yes" I said taking deep breaths "okay" she said dismissing what she had just seen. "I came to talk to you about your writing assignment this morning, Jene said I could find you here.." "That bitch" I said under my breath "you did an outstanding job!, I figured you might want it back early to show your mom" she said handing me the paper with a big 100 on it "thank you Miss.M!" I said shocked.

I heard the bell shortly after she left and I grabbed my broken glasses and headed to science.

*school day over*

I grabbed my books for my homework and put them in my bag and slipped my jacket on. As I started to walk toward the lobby Auggie caught my eye with that same smile and I shifted my backpack on my shoulders and put my hood over my head and ran down the front steps on the school. I quickly glanced up looking for Liv and when I didn't see her car I kept running, the cold wind stung my pink cheeks and tears started to stream down my face like rain on a windowsill blending with the falling snow flakes. When I hit the corner of the block I stopped to look up at all the buildings and catch my breath, out of the corner of my eye I saw a blacked out vehicle pull up and stop, I didn't realize it until who ever was driving got out. Someone grabbed me tight around my arm and I tried to struggle I couldn't see without my glasses and tears in my eyes "Katie, Stop I got you now" said the figure.
