I sat at Ravenclaw table the next morning, picking at my breakfast. I never did make friends in my own house, which leads to a rather lonely life until I manage to get some free time. I glanced over my shoulder at Albus, who was sitting right behind me at the Slytherin table, waiting for Professor Slughorn to pass out his schedule.

Professor Flitwick passed by, handing out that year's schedule. I took mine, glanced it over, and returned my focus to Albus, who was just receiving his own.

"Same-old, same-old?"

"Yep, we always have Transfiguration and History of Magic together. As well as Ancient Runes, Muggle Studies, and Care of Magical Creatures."

I smirked. "No getting me trouble in Transfiguration this year. Dad's already been acting strange, and I really don't want to set him off."

"I get it. My father loves to tell us that by our age, he had defeated Voldemort several times already."

"Epic destinies must suck. I would hate it if I ever got one."

"Same here." Albus turned around and gathered his things. I did the same, and we walked out of the Great Hall together. "You know, we had no clue our father was so famous for such an important event until we came here to Hogwarts. James was forbidden to tell Lily or me after his first year. Once Lily came, we could all talk about it freely, but it still makes Dad uncomfortable. He prefers to talk about Mum's Holyhead Harpies days."

"I would, too. One of the guys who helped raise me, Percy, he never talks about how he saved the entire mortal world twice in one year. He stopped Kronos and Gaea, but he never talks about it. None of them do. Their children have no idea of the power their parents wield."

Before either of us realized it, we were standing in front of the door to my father's classroom. I dropped my bag down on the floor and plopped down beside it. Albus was about to do the same when a young stern faced woman came around the corner.

"Who are you?"

The woman threw some shade in my direction, but did not answer me.

"Where is Professor Winters?"

"That's none of your business, little girl. In."

Albus quietly obeyed, but I stood my ground. "He's my father. I want to know where he is."

The woman narrowed her eyes before shuffling though the books she was holding. She let out a heavy breath. "Take this and say no more of this matter to me. In."

This time I obeyed. I went to the second row and sat down next to Albus. I pulled out the note and began reading.

Ali Ann,

I am so sorry that I haven't contacted you earlier. Firenze read some disturbing signs the night before your last night in New York. I immediately packed and headed for Long Island, contacting Chiron and informing of the news.

I am at camp, talking with Chiron and Rachel to see if Rachel sees the same thing that Firenze saw. So far it does not look good. I do not want to worry you, but something big is about to happen, and I fear that you will be involved.

I will contact you as soon as we have discovered everything we can. It may end up being that I will have to bring Rachel to Hogwarts to speak with Firenze and have them working together on this, but nothing is certain yet.

I'll write to you soon.

I love you,

Dad

I stared at the letter. Albus tugged it from my hand and read it.

"Who's Rachel?" Albus had to whisper because by this point some of the other students began to file in and choose seats.

"She's the oracle. She receives visions and prophecies of the future from Apollo. If Dad has to bring her here to talk to Firenze, then something awful must be about to happen."

"It looks like you're going to get some epic destiny after all."

I looked up in Albus's face, hoping that he was joking, trying to lighten the mood in any way, but he was dead serious.

The rest of the day passed in a blur. I didn't have any of my other classes with Albus that day, so there was no one I could talk to about this new situation. At the end of lunch, instead of going to my free period, I headed to the headmistress's office, hoping that Professor McGonagall would let me talk to my father in New York.

When I found myself facing the griffin statue that blocked the entrance, I realized that I didn't know that password to get in. I stood there debating when the griffin suddenly leaped to the side and a tall thin woman came walking out.

"Professor McGonagall!"

Completely unperturbed, Professor McGonagall looked up from her papers to me.

"Miss Winters, what do you need?"

I took a deep breath to steady myself. "I want to speak with my father. He left me this really strange letter, and I'm worried."

Professor McGonagall's face relaxed into something that looked like either pity or sympathy.

"Come into my office and we'll discuss everything in there." We went up in her office and she motioned for me to sit in the chair across from her desk. Professor McGonagall sat down. "Miss Winters, your father is in no serious danger."

"I realize that, but some of the things in the letter tell me that something is not right. He might be bringing the Greek oracle here to Hogwarts. That's a big deal. Until I was born, these worlds never mixed together. I'm worried that I was born for some kind of purpose and I fear that whatever is about to happen has to do with me."

Professor McGonagall remained silent for a long time. Finally, she stood and headed over to one of her many bookcases, asking, "How familiar are you with Arthurian legends?"

My head twitched in confusion. "Very familiar. My father used to tell me the stories when I was little girl. The versions from before the French altered them."

"Are you aware that they are in fact history? More importantly, our history."

"Of course. Professor Binns talks about it in History of Magic."

"I'm glad someone pays attention in that class. Are you aware that the only reason Morgan le Fey is in our history is because of her battle with Merlin? Merlin was arguable the greatest wizard to have existed. The founders of Hogwarts considered naming the school after him, but decided against it. Morgana, however, was your half-sister. Morgana was a daughter of Hecate. That fact is not taught any longer. It is part of an attempt to keep our magical world separate from hers. It was actually because of Morgana that we decided to separate the two worlds."

"Like how the Greeks and Romans were separated."

"Exactly."

"Is Morgana coming back?"

"I doubt it. Merlin made sure that should she come back, King Arthur would awaken and help Merlin stop her once more."

"The time of Albion's greatest need."

"Yes. I am speculating that Morgana had descendants go unnoticed and one them might be trying to finish was Morgana started."

"Why are you telling me this?"

"Your father requested that I tell what I can, but only if you came to me. Your father is an incredibly intelligent and wise man. It does not surprise me that Hecate chose him to be your father." We sat there for a while, contemplating that before Professor McGonagall stood up. "Do not worry about returning to class. A lot has been dealt to you, and you would not be paying attention in class anyways. Return to your dormitory and get some mental rest. You'll need it for when your father returns with Rachel."
