It was getting late and Dominick had to be at work by 6.
Alexis walked him out to his car sharing one last hug before he left.
"Thanks for coming today."
"Yeah no problem." Dominick sat in the front seat clicking the seat belt and shutting the door.
"Bye Dee." She waved him off as he rolled out the driveway and soon down the street.
She sighed going back inside reminiscing the time they spent together. Her thoughts soon went dark over her boyfriend. Why can't they have moments like these anymore. It seems they become more distant by the second that passes. It really drives her crazy over what's going on inside his head.
The sound of the door clicking echoed throughout the house. Alexis's mom walked in with hand full of bags.
"Honey I'm home," She bumped into Alexis struggling to hold a bag with a carton of milk, "Oh Alexis. Grab some stuff would you?" She exchanged groceries speed walking into the kitchen.
"How was your day?" Alexis asked creating small talk while putting away vegetable cans in the high cupboards.
"Like any other." Her mom sighed taking out a fresh cigarette and lighting it up, "Put the ketchup into the fridge. I like it cold." She instructed seeing Alexis put the condiments also onto the shelves.
While she was putting the groceries away she realized that she missed a text massage from J'kai her boyfriend.
