I was three years old, my brother was ten. I was riding my bike around the block with him. It was getting late so we headed home. When I reached the corner of the street. I saw a man in a house looking out the window. Looking at me. He waved to me and pointed to were my house was. I looked. My house was on fire. I ran toward it and my brother followed behind me. I stood there just watching my house burn until I could hear sirens getting louder and louder. Firemen ran past me. I kept standing there, frozen. My brother carried me out of the way, and onto the street.

"Olivia, are you ok?" he said while grabbing my hand

I looked at him with an expressionless face.

"Olivia, please talk to me?!"

"James." I said burying my head onto his shoulder and hugging him

" It's ok. We're going to be fine. Everything will be fine." James said

It was the next day. Our neighbors invited us to sleep there. I was downstairs in the living room. My brother sat next to me and said.

"Mr and Mrs David said we will be going to a foster home! It will be filled with a bunch of kids our age! Isn't that great?!"

I stood up and yelled at him.

"I don't wanna go!! I want to stay with mommy and daddy!!"

"Well mom and dad are dead stupid!"

I bursted into tears and ran outside walking away from the house

"Hey!! What are you doing?!!"

I didn't answer and kept walking. I can hear his footsteps coming closer to me. I ran further down the block. He ran behind me. He finally caught up to me and grabbed my arm.

"We gotta go back!!" James yelled

"I don't wanna!" I yelled at him

" We can find a new home!"

James gave up and he let go of my arm and said.

"What are we going to find out there?"

"A home. Maybe a tree house?!"

I said happily

"You have got to be kidding me?"

"We can go to that mans house that is next to our old house."

"I don't think that's a good idea."

I ignored him and ran to were the man lived, and James behind me. We walked up to the porch and we rang the doorbell.

"Are you sure that this is a good idea?" James said with a worried face.

"I'm sure!" I said

The door opened and it was the man.

"What are you two doing here? I thought the David's sent you away already?" he said

"We ran away, well she ran away and I followed her and she said that we could live with you!"

"Is that true Olivia?" he said with a grin

"How do you know my name?"

"I've know you since you were 2 months! You too James!"

"Well can we stay with you?"

He thought about it and he said with a

grin.

"Ahh sure you can stay!"

We stayed there for three months. I know this would be a good idea. The kind mans name was Kevin but we called him dad. He also had an older granddaughter named Carren. When I turned eleven my brother decided that he didn't want to live with us anymore. That it brings to much bad memories. Honestly I didn't know what he was talking about. It was perfect here. Well until Kevin passed away. I was scared I had nowhere to go. Also I had a baby sister that I couldn't take care of by myself. I couldn't do it alone.

Carren decided to bring us in to her new house and live with her. She was mean. She treated me like an animal. She would have me clean everything including the car and gutters. Just because she didn't know how to them herself. Luckily my brother moved in to the next block. So I walked there one day to visit. I knocked on the door and my brother was standing there and said.

"What the fuck are you doing here?"

"I-I came to visit you I-"

"Get the fuck out! I don't want to see you! You stupid bitch!"

He slapped me and slam the door in my face. I bursted into tears and fell upon my knees. Then I hear Carren run up to me.

"Olivia what happened?!" she said holding me.

"J-James h-he hit m-me." I said whimpering into her shoulder.

Carren knocked on the door in anger. Then James opened.

"What the fu-"

Carren punched him in the face leaving him out cold on the ground.

"C'mon Olivia lets go!"

We ran back into the house and I sat on the couch.

"Did you leave Jada here?!" I said angrily

"She is sleeping don't worry. I was looking all over for you!"

She sat next to me and hugged me.

" Don't do that ever again okay? I was worried sick!"

"Thank you." I said with a smile

"No problem."
