Chapter 3: Training Camp Becomes Dance Class (part 1)

As the sun peeked around the curtains insistently, Julia frowned and rolled over. Burying her face in between Ukai's shoulder blades, curling her fingers around his T-shirt before breathing in deeply and sighing heavily.

"Keishin, don't you have training camp today?" She sighed, voice muffled from his back. Three seconds of silence passed before he jumped up, gathering his bags for the trip.

"Crap! Crap, crap! I was suppose to be there at 5:30 and it is 5:30!" Tossing her still packed bags of clothes at her, Ukai pulled her out of bed. "Get ready, you are coming too. I need someone to keep me sane around that old bat." Letting herself be pushed out of bed, Julia made breakfast in a trance, then climbed into the car and waited. Ukai careened out of his apartment and haphazardly threw their bags into the back before starting the car and speeding down the road.

Back at the school, Takeda was panicking, pacing back and forth and checking his watching every 10 seconds. Most of the team had shown up early, so the only one they were waiting for was coach Ukai. Everybody was yawning a rubbing their eyes, except for Takeda who was rushing towards the car that had just shown up, holding a very tired Ukai and Julia. Julia went to the back of the car and grabbed their bags while Ukai talked to the boys quickly. Once they were all settled in on the bus and Julia had packed all of the bags she crawled onto the heated tin can of teenage boys. The only empty seat other than a seat next to an already sleeping Takeda was next to Sugawara. Sugawara slid out of the seat and gestured for Julia to sit in the window seat. Ukai shot her a reassuring glance, before starting the bus. She sat down and nodded her thanks to Suga before leaning against the window, eyes heavy. Suga was leaned towards Daichi, having a calm and quiet conversation with him when something hit his back. Suga flips around and looks to Julia. She had fallen asleep and was leaning against the window until the bus turned, making her lean against Suga. Him flipping around caused her to fall into his lap which in turn, made him squeak in surprise. She frowned in her sleep and curled up slightly, muscles tightening. Suga sighed in resign leaning back towards Daichi to talk to him. Nishinoya had fallen asleep, curled up halfway on Asahi, who had also fallen asleep, leaning on top of Noya's head making his hair bend down and flatten out, it's previous spunk gone. Ukai slams on the brakes, stopping the bus quickly. Julia slides off of Suga's lap and off the seat, slamming her face onto the seat in front of her.

"I'm going to kill you." Julia shouted, making Ukai chuckle and usher everyone off of the bus. Julia walked past him off the bus, sticking her tongue out as she went past. They walked down and saw two kids, probably captains, laughing at Tanaka and Nishinoya who were pointing at a cell tower. Ukai reined them all in and the team was standing around, watching the two people in front of them. The first one, he was tall and had crazy hair. The team knew him as 'Kuroo' and Hinata immediately started bugging him about another person. Ukai hung back and reached to his back pocket, catching Julia's eye. She pretended not to notice and he slipped a cigarette into his hand. Julia leaned towards him and gave him a side hug, making it look normal, but pulled the box out of his pocket and stole the one in his hand. He glared at her and she smiled cheerily, tossing the box behind her, back onto the bus.

Following everybody back into the gym Julia looked around, breathing in the deep smell of floor wax, volleyballs and a small mix of sweat.

"I missed this. So much." She mumbled, a small smile cemented on her face. He chuckled and entwined their fingers together, making Takeda slide away and go talk to Kikyo and Yachi, ears tinted pink.
