"Mother Luna does not feel in her heart for you." Colin growled out at the man.

"Who the hell is mother luna?" The man yelled. It wasn't every day that an attractive male comes into your home, sword drawn speaking of a 'Mother Luna.'

"The goddess of the moon."

"Ah... Like that makes any more sense."

"You have wronged her."

Colin stepped closer.

"What do you want?!" The pathetic man screamed.

"I want my life back." He growled as he plunged his sword into the man's chest.

Samurai stood outside the old house, waiting for his master. He could scent the blood coming from the house.

Colin emerged, indeed bloodied.

He swung up in the saddle, and galloped the horse back to the castle in which he lived.

When Colin arrived back at the castle gates, the guards looked at him skeptically. The simple clothes he wore were bloody and the horse gave off the same dangerous aura as his rider.

The horse trotted over to the stables as Colin removed the leather gloves from his hands.

Samurai halted suddenly as the king stepped in front of him. The princess stood not to far away.

The king looked at Colin with disapproval.

He just scared Adelisa right to her core.

"Go put that damned horse away and meet me in my office after you get cleaned up."

"Yes, my lord," Colin said like a trained dog. He growled under his breath.

"Stay with him Adelisa." The king said to the small princess.

"Y-yes father." Adelisa clasped her shaking hands in front of her as the horse walked next to Colin. She walked faster to catch up with Colin's long strides.

"My name is Adelisa." She said meekly, "Colin, right?"

"Yes."

"I am sorry for bothering you, but my father-"

"Is an imbecile?"

"That isn't what I was going to-"

"But it is true and you know it." Colin glared.

"Why are you so mean? What did I ever do to you?" Adelisa asked, exasperated.

"I have to be your babysitter." Colin muttered.

"I don't have a choice! If I did I wouldn't pick someone like you!" She glared back.

"Is that so?" Colin growled.

"Yes." Adelisa whispered.

"I'm sorry I am, by definition, an asshole. Now get over it." Colin replied, pulling the heavy saddle off of Samurai. An invisible fire burned in his dark eyes.

"That still doesn't really explain why you are a..."

"Asshole?"

"Yes."

"Well... Let's just say that I am held to a contract that I never signed."

"How...?"

"Like fate. Destiny."

"Oh."

"Do me a favor..." Colin said.

"Yes...?"

"Don't talk to me any longer."

Adelisa hung her head in embarrassment.

"Thank you."

She sat down on a hay bale that sat against the wall. When Colin left to hang his saddle in the tack room, Samurai left his open stall. He placed his head on her lap and looked her in the eyes like a puppy. She combed her fingers through his long mane and hummed softly. The stallion closed his eyes in bliss, and Adelisa couldn't help but feel as though he was human on the inside.

Colin emerged the tack room, prepared to haul Adelisa's whiny ass to see the king.

But what he saw shocked him. And that didn't happen very often. Samurai had his head laid upon Adelisa's lap.

"What are you doing?" Colin growled.

Adelisa jolted and let her hand fall from the large horse's head.

Samurai's head snapped to Colin, eyes narrowed. He snorted and walked into his stall.

"Don't touch my horse either." A sharp whinny echoed through the barn along with a kick on the stall wall.

Colin rolled his eyes and grabbed Adelisa's arm, holding on tightly.

"Stop!" She screamed as he dragged her through the courtyard, her stumbling behind.

"Go to your room. I will be there to guard you in a moment."

He knocked on the door to the king's office, and relaxed his stiff posture since Adelisa had left. His beast basked in her attention, and he didn't like that.

After all, she was just a whiny princess.

"Come in Colin."

******

"Oh honey." Bella, Adelisa's mother, cooed.

"How can someone be so mean!" She cried.

"I don't know dear. But, you get to go into town." Bella smiled, "You have never been there before." Princess Adelisa was never allowed to leave the castle.

"I know... But can I have a different guard?" Her mother looked down at her, a small smile on her face.

"I'm afraid not my dear."

******

"How can someone be so mean!" Adelisa cried from the inside the room. Colin's hand dropped from where he was going to knock as he clenched his teeth.

"I don't know dear. But, you get to go into town." He head the queen begin. He stood by the door, tuning out the rest of their conversation.

"You can go in now." Bella glared at Colin.

"Okay." Colin dipped his head in respect to the queen and entered.

Adelisa laid on her stomach on her bed, just in her silk night dress. Her hair was curly and fanned around her head. Colin growled lowly.

This a redo of the first chapter. I decided that I needed Colin to be more of an asshole that he was so I just redid this chapter... I will be working on the others so no worries!
