Oh no, the Halloween dance is today and Conner and I barely speak to each other anymore! After we finished putting our lunches in our lockers we headed back to class to take attendance and start heading down, which was something I really did not want to do. We finished the attendance and our teacher Mr. Mith gave us a talk on how we shouldn't be sad if we didn't have a date, we exited the class to the gym where the dance had already begun. This my friends is were things get ugly!
I quickly push through the crowd to find Wads and pull her into my arms. "Wads I don't know if I can make it through this thing without crying!" I say. "You need to talk to him Asia! He needs to know you still care." I pull away from her and look in Conner's direction. He's having fun dancing with his friends, I look back at her. "I can't do it now, it'll ruin this for him."
"WAIT WHAT!?!?" She basically screams "Asia, are you going to dump him!?" She finishes in a whisper "I think it's what he wants, I mean the only time we interact is when we accidentally make eye contact and exchange and awkward Hi with a smile. I can't do it anymore." "BOO!" Bolton yells as he grabs my shoulders trying to scare me. (It doesn't work, it never works.) "Bolton can you believe Asia's going to dump Conner at the first slow dance!?" "WHAT!?" Bolton gasps. "Look I don't want to talk about this until it's time okay?" I say stomping my foot to the floor to make a statement. Just then a voice came over the microphone "Alright ladies and gentlemen it's time to slow it down a bit!" Just great, the exact words I did not want to hear. "That time is now hunny" Bolton says. Just great.
I turn around and see Conner slowly approaching me. I clear my throats and step towards him and away from them. "You can do THIS Asia, he's probably going to be okay with it just walk up and say it!" I chant to myself. "Hey Conner I need to say something" "Yeah me too," he replies "Its the proper thing to do." "Say it at the same time?" I suggest. "Sure, 3... 2... 1..." "I think we should break up!" I shout "...to dance" he finishes realizing what I said. CRAP HE STILL LIKES ME AND I JUST RUINED IT! "Oh..." he turns and slowly walks towards Ken and Brain with his head down. What have I done!
