Infinity (Amy and Ty fanfiction)

Part 1: Muffins?

The breeze lightly brushed my face as I walked out of the barn. I whipped my head around as I heard the words, "Hey Amy!"

I smiled as I noticed Ty standing behind me. "Hey Ty, what's up?" I muttered as I yawned, tired from my almost sleepless night. 

"Oh, nothing, just saying hi," He walked up and stood next to me, smiling as he glanced at me. "You look, tired.." He chuckled a bit as he spoke. "Did you stay up late last night or something?" He asked me as I sat down on a bale of hay.

"Yeah, I don't know why, but I couldn't sleep." I replied, sighing. "Now, why are you here so early, hmm?" I asked him, my lips curling into a smile.

"Lou's making muffins, I just couldn't resist."

I chuckled a bit, standing up. "Well, it's a pretty nice day out, how about we go on a trail ride in say, an hour?" I asked Ty. 

"Of course! A trail ride sounds awesome right now." He replied, glancing over at the horses for a few seconds.

"Great! Just meet me in the barn." I said, turning around and walking to the house.

Once I opened the door, I immediately heard a loud beeping sound, and after a few seconds recognized the noise. The smoke detector. 

The unpleasant scent of smoke filled my nostrils as I walked into the kitchen. I chuckled a bit when I noticed Lou seizing a pan of burnt muffins and quickly dropping them onto the counter top. "Need some help?" I asked her, laughing.

Once the beeping finally ceased, I started helping to clean up the mess. I started to laugh again as I looked back at Lou, who was frantically cleaning. "I'm going to be late for work! Oh, I'm just a mess!" she grumbled, sitting down and grabbing her face.

I sat down next to her. "Lou, it's fine, everyone has off days, now, go get ready for work, I'll take care of the mess, alright?"

She quickly thanked me and rushed off. I grabbed a broom and started to sweep the muffin mix off the floor.

Soon enough, an hour had passed. I finished cleaning and ran over to the barn to see Ty waiting for me. "Geez, what happened to you?" He asked, examining the smokey powder on my face. 

I quickly wiped it off and mumbled, "Let's just say you won't be having muffins anytime soon."
