By the time Sunday night arrived, all my over-night bag was packed and lying at the foot of my bed, ready for the next day. I'd just packed the usual necessities of clothes and toiletries, but I had also packed some of my prized possessions. I'm going to leave them here. Even though there is no chance Dad or Bonnie would take them.
So, with my over-night things, I had Harry and I's Invisibility Cloak (Harry had given it to me to babysit over the summer), the locket Dad gave me on my eleventh birthday, and my wand.
The day after Draco invited me to the Cup, Ron also sent us a letter. This time, it was both Bonnie and I invited. We had to tell Ron I was already going, so just Bonnie is going with him. As it turns out, he asked Harry and Hermione to come too! It's a shame he didn't ask Amy, but there's only a limited amount of tickets...Ron did invite me, however, to meet up with them before the match, which I of course am going to do.
Yesterday morning, Dad and I finally repaired the broken window together. It wasn't too bad doing it without magic. It just took a little longer. But with a but of Muggle pop music and cheerful chatter, the time passed us.
So here I am, pacing in my room at four in the morning, anxious to see Draco again. I mean, I haven't seen him, or any of my friends at that, all summer.
The sun was slowly rising, allowing rays to stream into my room, illuminating it with its light. By six, I had double-checked my bag, fed Swoops and had gotten dressed.
I'd put on some denim high-waited shorts, a cream cropped t-shirt with the word "love" embroidered into it, paired with some simple cream high-top converse. I changed my hair colour to a simple brunette for today - I might as well do something with this Metamorphamgus power - and threw it into a high ponytail. For an extra touch, I'd added a thin layer of foundation, mascara and pink lipgloss.
I jump onto the bed, swinging my legs back and forth, waiting for Dad and Bonnie to awake. Unlike them, I'm wide awake and ready for Draco to turn up any second.
Although, he never mention when he would be arriving. He could arrive sometime in the hour or midnight, for all I know. If he came at midnight and woke me up I'd probably hex him, which would not be a good idea.
Finally at seven, I hear the creak of Dad footsteps as he passes my bedroom and go downstairs. Getting up from the bed, I go out into the hallway, head downstairs and skip into the kitchen.
"Good morning, Dad," I say cheerily, plopping down at the breakfast bar. Dad whips around from the cupboard and smiles at me.
"You're awfully happy this morning," he says. "What's gotten into you?"
"The Quidditch Word Cup, duh," I tell him, grinning. "Plus I get to see Draco today."
Dad's smile drops as soon as I mention Draco. Ever since I told him about Draco and I's friendship, he's become sort of distant whenever I mention him. I don't really think he approves, but he accepts it, which is a good thing.
"That's right," he says quickly, turning back to the cupboard. "What do you want for breakfast?"
"Cereal will do," I say. Dad pulls out a box of Rice Crispies and sits the box on the breakfast bar. I jump up and go around into the kitchen. I pull a bowl out of the top cupboard and prepare the cereal.
As I eat, I can't continually glance at the clock, watching the time slowly tick by, second by second.
"He's not going to come any faster if you keep watching the clock, Sarah," Bonnie says as she strides into the kitchen, unusually awake this morning.
I roll my eyes. "Good morning to your too," I say sarcastically. "Why are you so awake this morning? You're usually sluggish and grumpy."
"The Quidditch World Cup is tomorrow," she answers with a shrug, just like I had minutes ago. I laugh into my cereal. "What?" she asks, raising an eyebrow.
