.                                                        Twelve years later

On Missy's thirteenth birthday she felt like she belonged. Finally. She thought. I might be liked for once. Three of her friends where coming over. The three that she had, where her only friends. Her brother,-adopted brother(Missy liked to make sure she didn't get attached to her fake family)-Peter, would surely come. He was nice. Unlike Niroga or her adopted parents, Peter was nice. He was a year older than her a defended Missy as if she where a legendary unicorn thing.
   Then the doorbell rang.
"My friends!" Whisper-yelled Missy. She giggled and ran to the door before Mr. Oaks got there. Missy got to the door and swung it open. Michel, Raini and Austin stood there like statues. When Michel saw Missy, he said: "Is the beast gone?" That's why they stood still, thought Missy. "The beast" is their nick-name they'd given to Mr. Oaks for being so mean to Missy.
"Yes, I think." Said Missy. As if right on cue, Mr. Oaks walked the golden stairs with his hand running over the spruce handle bar against the wall.
"Hmm..." He grunted. "This won't do. How about-" he put a sign on the door and before he closed it in the three friends faces, Missy looked at the sign.
