"And don't forget to wash your clothes every week!" Tsukishimas mom shouted at him before the doors to the train closed.
The train to Tokyo departed 12.30. Tsukishima looked at the clock, it's in ten minutes.
Ten minutes until he'd never see Yamagata again, the little village in Yamagata where he grew up, soon it would only be a faded memory.
He opened the doors to second class, it smelled of old train seats and the sun set gave an orange light. Four doors to the right was his compartment, he went inside and installed himself. His bag above him, his headphones on his ears and two peices of gum in him mouth, the trip to Tokyo could begin.
Tsukishima Kei, 19 years old and going to collage like any other 19 year old would. He wasn't really interested in anything besides art and playing video games. And he absolutely hated other people.
He rested his head in his hand and glanced out over the city through the train window, becoming thinner and thinner until it was only forest and landscape left.
His playlist with Fall Out Boy and All Time Low played in his ears on way too loud volume. He loved music, it made him think of something other than this boring world he so, unfortunately, lived in.
His brother Akiteru didn't make it better either. He lived his perfect life with his perfect girlfriend in their perfect house. Everything went so smooth for him, he seemed to have luck where ever he went. Stupid brother..
Tsukishima switched to a playlist with calmer music and took his glasses off, he leaned back in the seat and managed to fall asleep as the train rolled through the country.
-Several hours later-
People outside Tsukishimas compartment started moving and getting out of the train, he woke up when a heavy bag hit his door. He sat up straight in the seat and looked around, newly awake he scratched his eyes and yawned big before taking his bags and following the stream out of the train.
The train station in the middle of Tokyo, where Tsukishima secretly has wanted to be at least once in his life. Well, Tokyo, not the train station. He took a deep breath of the air, it tasted like exhaust.
The phone rang just as he was about to get off the platform.
"Are you alright honey? Your train should be in Tokyo now, how is Tokyo so far?" His mother said in an abnormally excited tone.
"I'm fine, I don't know yet I've only been here for thirty seconds mom" Tsukiskima said and rolled his eyes.
"I'm so happy for you! Call tonight, promise!" She almost shouted in his ear.
"Mm, kay bye"
"I can't believe my son is so big he's going to coll-" Tsukkishima hanged up on her, she had been crying about Tsukkishima going to college since he first tested in. He was kinda tired of her now.
Tsukkishima made his way through the big city with only his brave map to guide him. After getting lost twice he finally made it to the school.
A big white building could be seen with AKITA UNIVERSITY written in black letters on the gate. Tsukkishima slowly pushed it open and went inside the garden.
Long gravel paths slithered away up to the actual house, it was nice.. quite beautiful actually. Akita was a great college, you needed top grades to get in there. You could say Tsukishima felt a little bit of excitement, though he would never admit it.
---
The heavy bags of his felt like they were about to crush him as he walked up the stairs. He went looking for his dorm when someone called his name.
"Tsukishima-san? Excuse me, are you Tsukishima-san?" A lightly shorter boy came around the corner, he had brown hair and freckles.
"Who are you?" Tsukishima said and raised an eyebrow at him.
"My name is Yamaguchi Tadashi, I'm your roommate!" The boy said and smiled big.
"Oh, okay.. Where is my room?" Tsukishima asked and rolled his eyes at the sudden company he definitely didn't ask for.
"OUR room this down this hall, come on!" Yamaguchi said and took Tsukishima's hand. He followed the boy he just met reluctantly down the hallway. Against holding hands with a stranger but his hand was oddly smooth.
"Welcome home!" Yamaguchi said and swung the door open.
The room was little with two beds on the side, a bathroom, and a kitchen. Small yet livable, like a tiny flat.
Tsukishima sat down on the left bed.
"This bed is mine. Don't go near it"
"Haha! You're funny, can I call you Tsukki?" Yamaguchi asked and looked up from the floor and tried to have Tsukki notice how fricking cute he was.
His freckles, like stars on his face..
"Whatever, I'm tired. I'll go to bed. Don't talk to me" Tsukki said and unpacked one of his bags and pulled out some sheets and a pillow threw them at the bed and fell right into them.
"Okay sleep tight, Tsukki.."
