"I dont want to go!" I told Angela, as she flickered my bedroom light on and off.
"Come on Diana, It would do you good! you haven't been out of the house in days!" said Angela, frowning at me, bundled in my bedsheets, hair knotty, and bags under my eyes.
"It's exam period Angela!" I said , sitting up slightly and wiping sleep from my eyes.
"So what? You need some boys! You need to view a member of the opposite sex! How long has it been since you've seen an attractive guy?" asked Angela, crossing her arms across her chest.
I sighed. "I don't know! Well, in between school, exams, and studying at home, I haven't had time!"
Angela exhaled deeply. "Oh little sister...what will I do with you! You're 16, and don't even have a boyfriend, or anything close!"
"Oh shut up." I snapped back. "I'll get dressed..." I said, pulling back my bed covers.
"Wonderful" smirked Angela, before i shut the door to get changed.
It was stupid anyway. A waste of time. Once a week, Angela goes to watch Lancester City F.C train. I'm not a huge fan of soccer, but I know the basics and watch it every now and then. I know that Lancaster City is in the Northern Premier League Division, so its not Premier League.
I live in Lancaster, which is a pretty English town. pretty soccer mad, which is why my sister loves watching Lancaster train whenever she can. Its cheaper than going to the games, and its eye candy.
I got into my sister's red Mazda and we drove without talking but just singing along to her car stereo. When we got to the football ground, we found some empty seats and sat down. There were probably about 100 people there. It was called an 'Open Training Session' where the public could watch.
"Angela.." I asked, as I looked out toward the empty ground.
"Yes?" she replied, turning around to face me.
"Thanks for bringing me. It's good to be out of the house." I shot her a smile. A rarity in exam period. Then, the boys ran out.
He caught my eye when no one else did. He ran with a great care and agility the others didn't. They started warming up by running laps of the oval, and this guy did laps with ease. His long legs galloped as he strode along, leading the pack of boys. He had a flop of messy blond hair and blue eyes that were piercing when you saw them from afar. I wonder what they'd be like up close.
"Who's that?" I asked my sister, not breaking my eyes away from the angel of a man.
"That? Oh....that's Tom Wright. Newly appointed Lancaster F.C Captain. He's a great player. I hear he is a nice guy too...but I've also heard he is a party animal. I'm not entirely sure if one runs with another, but either way he is pretty fit."
I smiled, averting my gaze to my big sister. She laughed, realising finally what I meant.
"He's single."
I looked back at him. He was very close now, and doing stretches facing our stand.
My sister wolf whistled.
He looked up at us and smiled, raising one questioning eyebrow. My sister pointed at me.
"Hey, cutie in the red shirt." he said, nodding his amazing head towards me. Me??? surely I wasn't being addressed by him!
"Me?" I replied, smiling.
"Yeah you!" he replied in a gorgeous northern British accent.
"My name's Diana." I replied, still smiling like mad.
"Well Diana, as cute as you are, please don't distract me with your whistles..." he let out a single laugh and then broke into a megawatt smile, before jogging back into his team, and giving them directions.
I was in love with Tom Wright. How was that even possible? I didn't even know him! All I knew is that one day we would be together. Well, I was right.
