Tyron's story:
Tryon tugged on his mother sleeve anxiously. "Mother where are we going?" He whispered barely able to keep his eyes open. His mother gave him a sweet smile, "Go back to sleep my love. We will be home soon." Tryon wanted to close his eyes but the curiosity was too much for him.
The buildings became smaller and worn down the farther his mother walked. Every few minutes his mother had to stops and replace him back on her shoulder. Tryon realized that his mother would not be taking him home soon and he became frustrated with all his mothers lies lately.
First she said he would get a cake, that never happened. Then she said he would be able to go back to school. Now she was saying that they would be going home soon. Lies, all of her words were lies. Tryon had felt heartbroken, mistreated, unworthy, not loved.
Tears filled his eyes as his mother set him down on cold hard steps that led to a building with a sign that read 'Ms. Mandran's orphanage for boys.' Tyron could not read the sign nor understand why his mother had seated him there.
She gave him a kiss on the head, "I will be back in a few minutes love. Just wait here for me and I will come back to get you." Tyron had a sudden feeling that his mother was abandoning him. "Where are you going mother?" He bunched up the bottom of her drees in his tiny fists.
His mother gave him another kiss accompanied by another sweet smile, "I have an errand I must run. Do not worry for I will be back soon. Goodbye my love." Tryon watched as his mother walked away. Rain drops began to pound the earth and thunder crackled through the sky as lightning flashed by.
Tyron knew his mother had left him. He knew she would never come back, never hold him again or sing him lullaby's with her angelic voice. But what he did not know and may never find out was why his mother left him.
Tyron sat in the rain the whole night to tired to move. When the crack of dawn came he was sound asleep on the steps. An old overweight woman opened the door to find a new addition to her orphanage.
She took him in and stole his clothes replacing them with old rags. Then she handed him a small bag and dagger and told Tyron to learn how to pickpocket and give her the goods he received or else he would end up hanging from the ceiling and if he ever thought of running away she would find him herself and slice him in half.
Tyron was terrified of this woman so he obeyed her every command just like the rest. Some were in shackles, others were branded and the rest had nothing. Tyron lived, or he more liked to call it served, the rest of his time there until he's twelve years old.
Clair's story:
Clair wept in the corner as the woman repeatedly whacked her with a stick yelling how she was a worthless girl who would never have a future. Another woman burst through the door. "Someone's hear to adopt!" She shouted.
The beating abruptly stopped and all the children were rushed into the main hall. Clair stood at the end being the youngest out of all the children. Two people, a man and woman, analyzed the children up and down, one by one. They looked quite rich.
The woman wore a silk blue dress that hugged her body and the man wore a navy blue suit, that matched perfectly with his wife's outfit.
When they came to Clair they smiled at the exact same moment. They pointed to her and the woman spoke, "I would like this one." The woman that was beating Clair earlier frowned but said, "Alright. Sign these papers then she's all yours."
While the rich couple signed the papers commotion among the kids went on. Jealously showed on some kids faces and sadness on others. The woman and man took hold of her hand and walked her to their car.
Clair sat in the back and watched as the world sped by her. The woman asked her so many questions and she answered every single one honestly. When they got to the house Ms. Palice took hold of her hand and said, "Welcome home my love."
