Forever Thankful

To many people, they said that she was his lucky charm. That he was very fortunate and that he should be thankful for her presence. And he could not deny that, he was very grateful, nothing can express his gratitude for her. However, more than a lucky charm, he'd like to call her a blessing, a gift from the heavens above.

Through the years, he has been struggling to achieve the dream his departed mom has left for him. He continuously evolved himself, accepting more challenging roles and engaging in other forms of entertainment. Though he reached some height of success being acclaimed as the breakthrough newcomer and was seen as one of the most promising actors of his generation, it was not quite enough to really bring him there. But all of that has changed on that afternoon in mid-July, when their eyes met and an undeniable chemistry was evident. In an instant, he was thrown into this crazy whirlwind of events being the other half of the global phenomenon that caught not only the heart of the masses but also the attention of the world.

However, above all these things, he was most thankful of the fact that she, a simple girl from Bulacan, made him feel what it was like to be RJ or Richard, (as she used to call him), again. And that set her apart from others. With her, he can momentarily forget that he had to put up the "straight edge" or the "prim and proper" on cam/public image of Alden Richards and instead, be just the adorably crazy and funny RJ he has always been. She was the one who unlocked that part of him and even he, was also surprised that she was able to have him expose his inner real self and he could never felt so much freer. Finally, he found her, a girl that looks beyond him, beyond the Alden Richards. She is indeed a miracle.

She had always read that he should be thankful of her. She is his lucky charm. That all that he has now, he owed it all to her. However, behind the cameras, people knew little of the wonders that he brought to her life. He is like the light at the end of the tunnel, her knight in shining armor, who pulled her out of that tower of desolation she was in. He was her savior. Just like her character Yaya Dub, she who has always scowled or frowned at life, finally smiled and lit up the moment she met him and it was a moment of rediscovery for her.

Amidst of the comforts she has, she somehow has this notion that there is something lacking in her life, then he came... He who experienced the early loss of his beloved mother, he who struggled to pursue his mother's dream for him, he who suffered many rejections before he was able to penetrate the limelight, he who became a breadwinner at such a young age, and last but definitely not the least, he who had to painstakingly endure the intrigues and issues in this crazy biz. He has been through a lot, much worse than her, but how come he still radiates positivity. There are always two sides of a coin, he said, and it was up to you to choose which side you want to see. And he was right. He was one of the people who became instrumental in making her appreciate the things and the people around her. That she was never alone. That if only she looked around, there is a lot more wonderful things out there to see than just waste time entertaining the negativity.

She admires his courage and she knew right then that she will be her beacon in this glitzy yet chaotic world she is now in. He is her no. 1 encourager. Her cheerleader. Her biggest fan. When she closed her doors, he opened the window and brought joy in her life. When she locked herself in, he broke down walls and let the sun shine on her. He opened her eyes to a thousand of possible wonderful things ahead. He is indeed a miracle.

For that, he is forever thankful that God gave him her.

For that, she is forever thankful to God upon every remembrance of him.
