three months before the breakup
I remembered that day at the beach.
It was a fine Saturday morning. Louis and Eleanor didn't have anything to do. So they decided to spend the day at the local beach.
I remembered hearing Eleanor's sweet laughter as she ran towards the shore.
I remembered seeing the light in Louis's eyes. I remembered him thanking whatever is up there for giving him such a wonderful girl.
I laughed so hard because I was there when they first met. I saw the way Louis grimaced at Eleanor's choice of book in that quirky café where they met.
He seriously hated classic books but Eleanor absolutely adored them.
He didn't plan on going to the local beach, one Saturday morning with her. Heck, he didn't even plan on falling so in love with her.
But at one point, Eleanor saw him staring, smiled and came up to his table. And he knew right there that he was screwed and that this girl would be his Achilles' heel.
"What are you smiling about?" Eleanor asked him, cutting his train of thought.
"You and I. Us. Happy. The world. Basically everything that's there to smile about"
They were picture perfect. But sadly they were placed on a broken frame.
