Suzie's POV
As both of my feet touched the last step on the bus and then the ground, I did not like what I saw. Both of my parents ran up to me and gathered me in a great big bear hug.
" There's our soon to be high school student! " my mom said as she was squeezing my ribs. " You know it seems like just yesterday you were learning how to walk."
Oh no. She was starting to tear up again! She always does on the last day of school. Even when I graduated Preschool she did! Jeez.
" We are so proud of you honey! " my dad said slowly letting his grip on my ribs go.
See my dad on the other hand is a lot calmer than mom. On awards day instead of crying he was clapping like a normal parent.
So at least you now know a secret I have never told anybody but Maddie about my mom.
Just as I didn't think anything could get any worse I saw a huge banner that read:
CONGRATULATIONS ON GRADUATING SUZIE!
I was hoping that there was another girl in our neighborhood named Suzie, but of course the banner landed in our front yard.
" Mom, Dad, what is this? " I asked.
" Well, your mother thought it was a good idea to get a banner to show the neighborhood and anybody that comes through the neighborhood that we had a child that graduated." Dad replied.
Just then a truck full of my classmates drove by my house.
Okay that was a little to close for comfort. If any one of my friends, except for Maddie because she know that my mom goes overboard on things.
" Mom I love you but can't the banner go inside the house? " I asked hoping she would say yes.
" But why don't you want it outside?" she asked while tearing up.
" It's not that I don't like it, it's just I think it would be better inside instead." I replied trying not to make her feel bad.
" Oh. Well in that case, okay."
Yes! Okay now that I've handled on problem, let's just hope that I won't have to handle more.
