"Sweetie, get up, time for school." I opened my eyes to see my mother's angelic face hovering over me. She slowly tugged the covers off of me as I rubbed the fog out of my eyes, sitting up. She folded the blankets over the end of my bed neatly before helping me up.
"School is too early." I said, yawning. She just laughed and walked out the room, leaving me to get ready for school. I grabbed an outfit that consisted of white jeggings, black madden girl leather boots and a black loose long sleeve shirt that said "Sugar Daddy Wanted" in gold letters on the front. After doing my hygiene in the bathroom, I got dressed and brushed my long brown hair that hung to the middle of my back. I wasn't the type of person to accessorize so I didn't have much jewelry. I did always wear my mother's necklace though. It was a golden heart locket that her mother gave her, then she passed it on to me. I cherished it deeply and I don't know what I'd do if I ever lost it. It meant everything to me.
I picked up my shoulder bag and headed downstairs to get hit by the smell of bacon that wafted in from the kitchen.
"Something smells delicious!" I said, walking into the kitchen. Maurice, my brown pit bull puppy, came trotting towards me, barking and jumping up on me.
"Hey, boy. " I crouched down and picked him up. He started licking my face, giving me dog kisses. "You're so cute. Mom, I wanna take Maurice to school."
"Honey, you know you can't." She said, walking back into the kitchen.
"I wish. Look at him, he's so cute!" I cooed. I had just got him a month ago and we instantly bonded. "I just wuv you so much, yes I do." I said in a baby voice, causing him to lick my face again. I held him like a baby and rubbed his belly.
"Michelle, do you see that?" My dad said, walking in and pointing at me. "She treats that thing like its her child." He hadn't wanted to get the dog but my mom was all for it. So it was two against one.
"I think it's adorable, you know she loves him to death. And by the looks of it, he loves her to death too." Mom told him.
"He loves me very much, isn't that right boy?" I rubbed his face and he used his paws to trap my hand so he could lick it.
"Ready to me 17, huh sport?" Dad said, referring to my birthday which was tomorrow.
"You bet! Tomorrow is gonna be great, I can feel it." Dad just laughs at me, shaking his head.
Mom sat my plate of breakfast on the counter and I sat Maurice down on the floor. He just started following me at my heel, looking up at me with those irresistible puppy eyes.
"Give him some bacon, I made extra." Mom said. I grabbed some extra bacon and went to the dining room, sitting down and putting him in my lap. He couldn't even wait, he started biting at the bacon on my plate. I gave him a piece and started to eat my own food as he ate that.
I guess you could say that my life was pretty good. I had my great parents who only yelled at me every so often and my best friend, Alyssa, who was always there for me. Plus, my grades were good in school and if I could finally get the nerve up to talk to my crush, Evan, my life would be perfect. But I don think that would be happening any time soon. Any time I got around him, my mouth went dry and I was at a lost for words. He just did that to me.
Maurice got off my lap when he was done eating and crawls over to his little bed, collasping in it and quickly falling asleep. I put my plate in the sink and pick up my bag, grabbing the keys to my white GT mustang.
"Mom, I'm heading to school!" I called back.
"Kay, bye sweetie, have a nice day!" She yelled from upstairs. I walked out the door and headed to my car, swiftly getting in and cranking it up.
