The night sky was dark and distant, mottled midnight blue. I can see the shimmering reflection of the most monumental moon I have ever seen, reaching across the vast and elegant lake. I am fully aware that I may never gaze upon the wondrous and scenic sights of the abundant planet Earth ever again. The time to vacate is now or never.

As I warily drift towards my splendid spacecraft and future home, glistening in the moonlight, I find myself contemplating whether or not I will regret abandoning my friends and my family in this hell bound society. I power up the sublime machinery that will guide me safely into the future on this perilous journey.

Whoosh! I can detect wisps of electric blue light flickering beyond me, as bright as lasers, piercing my retinas. I am travelling faster and swifter than the speed of light.

How is this possible?

I rapidly approach the warp in the universe- my gateway to the future... a wormhole. "Will I finally make it to the year 3000?" I query.

Crash! Thud! Bang! As my engine and Flux Capacitor malfunction, brown smoke accumulates in front of my face, barely able to make out the muffled image of a bare landscape dotted with pools of bubbling lava as I ascend upon what will probably be my last resting place. The revolting stench of burning diesel and rubber is intoxicating my lungs as I fail to do anything but automatically clutch the steering wheel and helplessly gasp for my last breath. The bitterness of the air is making my mouth taste sour and near impossible to cope with. Mere seconds before the catastrophic supernova of an explosion could take place, the immeasurable atmosphere around me implodes- my vision gradually fades to complete darkness. Panic builds inside of me, a clamp tightens itself around my lungs like a Cobra killing it's prey. Suddenly, my mind shuts off; the emergency force field of the DeLorean suffocates me.
