Winter Air

6 2 1

I open my eyes,
In the middle of the night,
The moon shining in the snow,
Making it glow so bright,

I slip out the window,
Dressed for the cold,
As the winter air hits me,
My fears seem to fold,

Everyone in this crude world fades,
I'm wide awake,
Not feeling afraid,

Long black hair,
Flowing in the wind,
Looking at the star filled sky,
Not wanting the night to end,

Six hours have passed,
The sun starts to rise,
I sigh and wait,
Then head inside,

Slipping through my window,
And into my bed,
I think of the night before,
And dream to do it again,

I'm glad to remember,
And wish to share,
my time in the moonlight,
With winter air
