Dear Mom and Dad,
Hey, how are you guys? Your only daughter, just wanted to write you a letter and let you know who I am, since you'll probably never get a chance to meet me. You guys didn't even want me. You were old enough to lay down, have sex and produce a human being, out of what I want to assume was love, but I'll never know. But, when I came out, you both decided that you both weren't old enough to raise a baby. Even though, I have so much resentment towards the both of you, I want to say thank you. Thank you, for placing in this adoption center, because I met my bestfriend, in the whole world. Taessa. We call her Tae for short. Tae and I, also this young man, who goes by PJ. PJ always knew how to brighten Tae and I's day. Sadly, he got adopted, and we never saw or heard from him again.
There have been sleepless nights, where I think about what kind of life I'd have if I knew the both of you. How, you and I could have had mother daughter dates, where we'd go out to eat, get manicures and pedicures, get our hair done, and maybe go to the movies. Or, we could bake cookies, and drink hot tea, and have "tea parties", I suppose. For my dad, we could have bonded over basketball, or football, we could have hooped around a little bit.
There are the nights where I wonder if I act like either one of you, or mom, if I sound like you. I wonder if you guys think about me, and if you ever thought about coming to the center and picking me up and bringing me home to live with you guys. I want to believe that our paths will cross one day, but I know they won't. I don't think that I'll look you guys up because that door was shut 18 years ago, when you gave me up for good. I appreciate you, because of you guys, I know what I want, and that's rule number one.
