Shikamaru x Reader

Y/n) (l/n) wasn't just any average girl. No she had an an IQ level of 200 to be exact. Earlier this week she and shikamaru had made a deal that if one of them beat the other that the winner would have to do whatever it was that they requested. Shikamaru being the guy he is accepted not wanting to back down seeming like a coward. The two both agreed on a date to play the game Shogi. (( I don't know a anything about this game so I'll just skip it slightly)) Each play and move was excruciating for shikamaru. He was being beat by a female. And oh how (y/n) loved every bit of it. Shikamaru began to sweat drop and fidget some. He grew nervous as to what he should do now since he was running out of options. After hours and hours of hard work and excruciating brain will power shikamaru lost to (Y/n).  Shikamaru hung his head in shame sighing as he blankly looked to his opponent, "*sigh* alright (y/n) what is your wish?" (Y/n) smirked and answered bluntly, "go on a date with me." Shikamaru's eyes widened slightly as he tried process in his words. Shikamaru couldn't believe what had come out of her mouth. Little did he know that a small lush rose up on his cheeks. Without another word said, (y/n) left shikamaru to think to himself as she headed home to get a good nights rest. Shikamaru soon made his way home as well still in shock as to what had just happened.

Shikamaru awoke from his peaceful slumber with a stretch and a small yawn. His eyes widened slightly as she short up and dashed to his bathroom to get ready for his date today. He wasn't complaining though. (Y/n) was a beautiful young lady. As soon as he finished he got dressed into something nice yet comfortable and headed out. As soon as he steeped foot out of his house a note was laying right in front of his feet. He reached down picking up the note. The note read: " you didn't think this was gonna be simple did you shika? Anyways I've edit hints for you that will lead you to your destination and more importantly to me. So have fun  and don't take so long... ~(y/n) " a small smile made its way into his slightly bored expression as he shoved the note and his hands into his pockets heading out. Note after note lead him to places like his favorite restaurant picking up his favorite food, the flower shop picking out (y/n)'s favorite flowers, a wine shop,  a gift shop picking up a necklace to give to (y/n) and so on and so forth. Everything as already paid for of course he just had to pick it up. The last note was very loving, "great job shika! You've made it farther than I thought. Anyways go to the first spot we met and you shall arrive upon your destination." He chuckled at the cute little note signed with her name and a small little heart. Listening to the directions he made his way to a park where him and (y/n)  first met. They were both young children running about and playing with one another. As he arrived he came across the picnic area where tables were up underneath an awning and white Christmas lights were strung on the top decoration the top almost as if they were a thousand tiny little lightning bugs and or stars which ever you prefer. He made his way over catching a glimpse of how beautiful she really was. The light made her bright eyes sparkle and twinkle perfectly. She smiled softly catching a glimpse of him. She walked over helping shikamaru with the bags of stuff. They both worked together setting the things up. They spread out a blanket and sat down on it while munching on the food. "It's a beautiful night out shika don't you think?" It wasn't until now that shikamaru realized that he had loved her for a while now. Shika nodded his head smiling, "yes but not as beautiful as you (y/n)..I have something to confess... I didn't realize it until you had asked me out yesterday...(y/n) you've been my friend since the very beginning and I couldn't be more happier to have you by my side..well I guess I'm trying to say is...is that I love you and I hope that you feel the-" shika was cut off feeling a pair of soft lips crash against his. He was tense at first but he melted into the kiss wrapping his arms around (y/n) gently almost as if she were fragile and would break with the slightest touch. "I-I love you too shika and I always have..." She smiled. Shika smiled happily pulling her into another kiss but this was more deep and passionate. And that was the tale of a sweet and long lasting relationship between shikamaru and (y/n)
