Night after night warm hearts turn blue like the azure sky
Soft cries of infants scatter throughout slums
Representing hope for the years to come.
Night after night the Black man fears
The streets leading his home
One wrong turn - one simple mistake -
And he is in a coffin resting as bones.
Night after night the Brown man runs
From the flashing lights screaming at him
Helicopters orbit war zones, tanks fire guns
Staining pure, refined streets by piercing his cracked rugged skin.
But it is not the white man who holds the colored people back
Or hinders their progress.
It is you, Congress.
I applaud you!
You seldom lose sleep for the foundation of this country.
Knowledge is power - why do you hide the truth?
Ignorance is death - wake up!
Credulous, belligerent fools what good is a nation of
Television minds ran by political extremists?
How will you fare when the people rise and you're all alone?
Money will not save you.
Nor the police!
Dawn is arriving and will wake the brave
Who'll force you to live on your knees
Exiled from the United States.
