Chapter 1 The Box

It was a normal winters day around Christmas when ... they arrived.

It was two minutes before the bell went for home time. All the kids were extra excited because it was the last day of term.

All except Gloria and Keith every one else had lots of money and were going away for the Christmas holidays.

Keith was a quite nerdy kid who acationally wore glasses. While Gloria was a cool, pretty tough but down to earth girl who has a passion for mystery.

Keith has blondy-brown hair cut short and blue-grey eyes. Gloria has short dark brown hair with a kink at the bottom, blond streekes near the front of her hair and blue-green eyes.

Keith Lukes and his friend Gloria Jones-the new girl to his school who everyone thought was weird she hardly ever smiled- were sitting on the swings as the block of flats in front of them towered upwards. They were bored, then suddenly it started to snow lightly.

This is the first time they have seen snow since they were around 7. They looked to the sky with amazment. They herd a strange noise but just ignored it. They got up said goodbye then went home.

Things like this start to happen quite frequently now a days. The weird noises almost like an engine. They just thought it was a dodgy car or motorbike.

As Gloria rode up in the lift to her floor the lights flickered. Then suddenly the lift announced she was on the 7th floor, so she turned round to face the door and thought nothing of it. She walked through the door and down her balcony to the door number 103.

She took one step inside but in the corner of her eye she could see something blue. She heard a funny noise as a whoosh of air came near her so she took a step back and the blue box was gone.

'What it was right there' is all you could here inside her head. "Gloria come inside you'll catch your death out there" her grandmother called from inside the house. "Coming Gran" Gloria called back.

And with that she stepped through the door once again this time staying there and shutting the door with a slight bang. As she walked into the kitchen she was greeted by the pleasant smell of food.

She sniffed the air with delight then kissed her grandmothers cheek and retired to her room. As soon as she hit the bed her phone was out and she was dailing her friends phone number.

"Hello Keith yes its me I saw it, I saw the box !"
