Mommy, I want to be like Cinderella." the nine year old girl said, earning a laugh from her mother.
"Emilia, come here." the middle-aged woman called her daughter.
Young Emilia dropped her book and looked at her mom confusingly. "Why, mommy?" she asked confusingly.
Her mother gave her a smile while tapping her lap. "Mommy's going to tell you something important."
The little girl nodded and sat at her mother's lap, being the obedient girl she was.
"Emilia, remember that mommy said this, okay?" the woman asked. Emilia didn't understand what was happening, but nodded.
"Once upon a time, there once lived a small town girl," she hugged her daughter and told the story.
"She is known for her kindness and love for others. She never wished for anything and never denied what she was asked for. All she wants was for everybody's happiness. Then the day she never expected arrived." her mother stopped, fighting the urge to let out the tears.
"There was a knock at the door at the night of her 18th birthday. She opened it excitedly, hoping that it was her father, but she was met by her uncle. The moment he told the news, it felt like she's been stabbed in the heart. The words still lingering in her mind."
'Your father, I'm sorry, but he didn't make it.'
"Mommy.." Emilia called her mother. "Yes-" the woman stopped when she felt her daughter caress her cheek. The mother held her daughter's hand.
"Pick your head up, Mommy."
The little girl murmured, making her mother burst into tears.
"Don't make grandpa sad."
This is not in third person's pov, it is just for this chapter.
