A work by Sky W. (skypaul) and Ali Moreno (Icarusdarkwood)

                                                        Prologue:

                                                           Glitch

The woman, tall with an almost a haggard face, grunted lightly as she walked right into her young daughter, who was currently rushing past her in the direction of her room at the end of the hall. The woman, sighs and continues walking throwing words over her shoulder in a hard voice,

“Don’t you dare get on that game!” she called, ’ Dinner is in one hour an I won’t have you missing it your meal with this family for a game young lady. ”

The girl, not truly paying attention to her mother’s screech, waves her hand in a dismissive gesture, her mother’s order making her smile a little. She drops her bag beside her violet canopy bed and grimaces at the room that seems to young for a girl her age, much less for one with her interests, she makes her way to the desk in the corner of her room clapping her hands once to activate the many screens built into her pale walls and move in the direction of a plush computer chair.

The largest scanner buzzing to life as she passes, followed closely by the others, a news bulletin booms and she winces touching the panel on the wall to turn down the volume, before sitting and swiveling around to view the main screen, a man , sitting in a crisp suit of navy with slicked back black hair spoke his voice hard and professional, “Today’s first topic is of great importance to the younger generation of out lovely city, I would like to assure you all that the news we are about to share is new and up to date, the makers off the new video game sensation…” he paused looking down at the papers in front of him on the large desk in front of him, “ Dancing Blade urge all players and dabblers to shut the game off an spread this announcement to everyone you know. Do not log in the virus has swept the game an trapped an is trapping all who enter the gaming world, if you are already logged in shut it down immediately there has been a mega glitch in the programming that is spreading rapidly through all software relating to the game, those who stay on are in danger, of what they are not sure but all outcomes they can theorize at this moment are not good, and they have reported cases of several teens becoming tra….” the screen, sensing the rooms occupant was no longer watching, shut off to conserve energy and the news casters voice faded as it went black.

She tossed her head as she finished clasping the helmet on her head and waited for her new game, a gift from her best friend Cal, Dancing Blade started up, she put in her name and hit enter waiting on the edge of her seat in suspense. The game completed her log in and she barley contained her squeal of excitement as it welcomed her as a new member. She immediately went about flicking on the visor so she could enter the virtual world all her friends were obsessed with. So focused she was that the sound of her thin wristband cell phone going off with an urgent call was missed.

                                                           -----------------------------------------------

The sound of glass shattering was defining as the girls mother raced from the kitchen and up the winding stairs, “Angel don't turn on the game, Angel answer me!” she shouted, becoming more frantic as no answer came from her daughters room. She moved with a speed she had never thought she could accomplish and shoved into her daughters door, breaking the automatic lock built into the white metal. She made a small, almost terrified sound as she took in the sight of her daughter laying slumped her micro fiber chair, limbs limp and swaying. She raced over and grabbed the, clear  helmet she had seen her daughter wave around that morning in excitement, trying to yank it from her child’s head only to find it would not budge, she sobbed as her tugs grew weaker and she slowly fell to her knees beside her baby. Her son and husband’s footsteps pounded up the stairs, their voices calling up in worry, she paid no heed as she clung to the girl.

“Angel, Angel…..please”
