Chapter 20

I find myself being pulled out of sleep and i shout at myself to go back to sleep. My body stands up and walks out the bedroom, it forces me down to the basement and presses the button. The blue and silver suit is released and my body steps into the metal, it clings like skin as the lights turn on.

"Hello Miss Skye." Jarvis announces.

I am so thankful that i put the ear piece in.

"Jarvis, ring Dad." I think and his video call appears.

His video feed comes up and i see the ear piece that i have, hooked over his ear.

"Its not me, mutation." I think and dad nods.

My body ends the call instantly and turns the boosters on. We fly into the air and out into the city. Cars speed past, their lights shining. My body lands in the middle of the road, cars swerve out of my way and around.

"Skye!" A voice shouts and my body turns to face my dad.

Dad is suited up in his red brand new Iron Man suit, he places his palm upwards and at me.

"I know its not you, fight it." He demands.

I try to fight, i kick and i scream until i see stars. My body laughs and pushes me away.

"You need to ring Zeke for me." I think.

"Im here, babe." I hear Zeke's voice in my ear and i smile.

My body catches on and shoots at the sky. Dad glances up and flies into the sky and catches Zeke as he falls. Dad lands and places Zeke onto the floor. He's in his black Iron suit that i designed for him, the black metal fits him and looks familiar like it was made specifically for him and no one else.

"It wasn't me." I think.

"I know." Zeke whispers, stepping forward and shaking his body in the metal.

"Skye, this might hurt." My dad says and steps forward. He pulls a wire on the back of my leg and i instantly collapse to the ground, lying on my back and gasping for air. Zeke races to my side.

I have control again and i pull my mask off and throw it onto the concrete beside me.

"Im back." I smile, but i feel a warm liquid fall out of my mouth. I glance up at Zeke and he nods.

"Im sorry." He whispers.

Zeke raises his fist and smashes the arc reactor on the suit. The blue lights die out and i sigh, a slight pain running through my body.

"I don't have much longer." I whisper.

A deep aching travels through my body, my eyes beg to be closed, but if i close them i won't open them again.

"Fight it, Skye. Please."

"Mutation is at 100%." Dads suit announces as he crouches beside me.

"I love you both so much." I whisper, my voice trailing off as my eyelids flicker shut.

The darkness takes over.
