First for most I just want to say thank you for sticking with me with this book. Secondly, the first chapter I had over two-hundred reads and then the last chapter I had about twenty. Was it that bad, or not interesting? I felt bad that I didn't impress you guys. Anyway, here is the next chapter.
Dedicated to TelnishaHaymond. I hope you get through you writes block. I'm seriously in love with Dom and Xander. 'The Guy' is my favorite. :3 Anywhoo...
~ Enjoy.
Killer Without A Name - III
"Well..erm..cool." I replied, Carter huffed seeming unhappy at my response. I could have said something along the lines of 'Thank you.' or 'I seriously owe you one' but I didn’t, it was the only thing that popped in my head at the time.
"A fucking thank you could suffice." Carter quipped rolling his round shoulders making Mrs. Parker dropped her hand to her side. His dark eyes concentrated on mine as the silence once again fell making the air filled with tension.
I remained quiet as they continued to stare at me. Carter's tone arms dropped for his chest and fall to his side as he clenched and unclenched his fist. Mrs. Parker eyes flashed between us as she watched him stare me down with an angry glare. I directed my eyes to Mrs. Parker who was just standing there; she shifted her feet uncomfortably before wiping her hands on her nurse gown. Her eyes caught mine; she was pleading me to say something.
"Uh..thanks..for..erm..finding me." I said trying to defuse the tension in the room. Carter didn't drop his glaze from mine; he stood there in the same stance looking at me like he was trying to solve a puzzle. He clicked his jaw to the side whilst rolling his eyes; this man was rude.
"About time." He mumbled before storming out of the room and slamming the door close harshly. I flinched from the sound; I knew all too well of slamming doors and anger. My life was wrapped around anger and tense conversations. I honestly have somehow become accustom to them, oddly.
"Don't worry about him, dear. He just has some issues." She walked over to the breakfast tray and laid it in front of me. The breakfast consent of oatmeal, water and a cup of tangerines, healthy hospital food. I snatched the water swiftly and swiveled the cap, pouring all the contents down my crusty dry throat.
I glared at the rest of the tray of breakfast food, my stomach was hadn't made any noises and in all honesty I wasn't even hungry. That and the odd look that Carter gave me while he was here, that look like he was trying to decipher me.
"No thank you, Mrs. Parker. I'm actually just wanted to take a shower and clear my head. If that's ok?" I said truthfully, I needed a serious washing. You could see the smudges of dirt on every inch of my body; I could feel the dirt in places that I didn't even know dirt could reach. And I'm pretty sure my hair was a bird's nest, full of vines and mud.
"Yeah, sure. That'll be fine. I'll be back to give you some clothes, I'm pretty sure Hera has some clothes that could fit you. “There was a hint of reluctance in her voice but she seemed to mask it well.
She sits in the chair for a moment and rolled her ankles before sighing and glancing at me. Lifting up from the chair she slowly walks in front of me, never losing eye contact. Once she in front of me her eyes locked onto mine like she was trying to search for something. I watched her eyes as her pupils dilated back and forth before returning back fully to their normal state.
"My god...” She mumbled more herself than to me; her eyelids spread out making her eyes look abnormally big. Taking a few steps back she wrenched he glaze away from me and looking down at the white and black flaky tiles.
