"Well see you tomorrow." She said to everyone as she headed home excited to see her uncle. It's been months since she last saw him and she was more than excited to ask him how him and his job was doing.

Uncle Simon worked as a prison guard for the local Detroit city prison so he always had some type of story to tell.

Her drive home went by quicker then it took to get there and she was happy to see that her uncle's car was already there.

She got out the car and opened the door instantly hit with the smell of pot roast and greens. Her mama knew how to cook and she often showed her around the kitchen as well.

She considered herself a pretty decent cook.

Now Deangelo was a whole other story.

"Home!" She yelled attracting the attention of her mom and uncle who was siting at the table reminiscing about each others childhood.

You see Uncle Simon was my uncle on my mom's side which also meant they would always tell me stories of how they would prank each other back and forth when they were kids.

I remember one time they told me about how my mom tricked my uncle into wearing nothing but pajama's to their high school homecoming.

That always ended up making me laugh for a good couple of hours.

"Well hey there lil miss it." My uncle smiled greeting me with a hug.

"Hey Uncle Simon." She smiled returning the warm hug.

"Your mama told me you got a job." He said.

"Oh yeah, sorry about that mama I was really in a hurry this morning I didn't get a chance to say what my job was about." She apologized getting a couple of potatoes and peeling them to make some mashed potatoes.

"Yes, what is this job baby?" She wondered just happy that one of her kids were working.

"Well i'm a assistant for this guy..but when his assistant come's back i'm going to be his stylist." She spoke leaving the part out that this guy just so happened to be Eminem.

"Stylist?" She spoke baffled.

"Yeah." She responded.

"But sweetie, you don't have any experience..except for those  bratz dolls you use to style when you were a baby." She laughed remembering how she always showed her what outfit she put them in.

"Yeah lil bit you hooked those little dolls up." Her uncle laughed.

"I have some experience remember I styled Carolina for her interview for subway?" She recalled.

Carolina was her best friend who lived down the street, they grew up together and always looked out for each other. She hadn't seen her lately due to her mama going to rehab for drugs and her boyfriend pressuring her to get married for they can leave Detroit.

"Honey, you sure your up to this? I don't know how important this man is but I hope you do your best." Her mama warned feeling a little scared for her daughter.

"I'll be fine." She reassured.

"Rosie, why don't you put a little faith in the girl, she seems to be trying hard." Her uncle smiled proud that his niece was going places.

"I do have faith, but i'm just worried as all, like any mother would be." She explained.

"You should be worrying about that lump of coal lying on the couch." He muttered looking over at the man who was knocked out cold with a beer can on his stomach.

Cynphony laughed done with cutting and peeling the potatoes. She grabbed a pot and put them on the stove to boil.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

The dinner turned out delicious as they all talked around the table sharing stories back and forth.

Deangelo kept shooting her daggers probably mad that she had gotten a job before him.

She ignored him trying to have a good dinner.

"The food was delicious!" Her uncle exclaimed going back for seconds.

"Thanks Uncle Simon." She spoke happy that he liked it.

"Potatoes were a little dry." Deangelo coughed.

I shot a glare at him which he returned.

"I think they were good." Mama spoke sensing the tension in the room.

"Well i'm a go upstairs real quic-" She didn't even get to finish because some idiot decided to come through the kitchen window scaring the living day lights outta everyone.

"Ay Michael what's up!?" Deangelo laughed doing a handshake between them.

"What the hell you think you doing climbing through my window like that?" Her mama yelled holding on to her chest from being scared.

"Sorry Ms. Bailey but yo front door was locked." He stupidly replied.

"Then why didn't you ring the bell!?"

"Cause the window was open."

. . .

. . .

. . .

"Is he stupid?" My uncle broke the silence.

She shook her head going up to her room before that idiot could attempt flirting with her for about the millionth time.

Michael had the biggest crush on her for the longest and she had no interest in him at all. He was apart of the Deangelo Bailey club that went around harassing folks.

She got on the phone and dialed Carolina's number seeing if she was available to finally talk.

It went straight to voicemail.

She sighed plopping down on the bed and thought about how tomorrow might go.

Her phone rung and she answered it without looking at the number.

"Hello?" She sleepily spoke.

"Cynphony you better wake up we got a fricking problem." One of her other child hood friends spoke urgently into the phone.

She instantly raised up afraid of what she might here.

"Justin what's up?" She hesitantly spoke.

"Turn on the tv!" He exclaimed.

She quickly went to find the remote and turned it to the channel 4 news and her mouth dropped open.

"Cynphony, Carolina's missing."
