Ant strips to his underwear before slipping underneath the duvet. He closes his eyes in hopes that he'll fall asleep easily. Ant was just about to drift off when he suddenly felt his husband not-so-carefully get on his side of the bed.
"We are old, Ant," Dec groans as he fluffs up his pillows.
"Forty isn't old yet, Decs."
"Well, it's too old for having late nights filled with drinking. Remind me not to go out for drinks with Stephen and Emma on a work night ever again."
Ant pulls Dec closer to him, letting him rest on his bare chest. "I don't think I'm gonna be fit to get out of this bed tomorrow, let alone go to work and teach. Fancy pulling a sickie with us?"
"Sounds like a plan. I wouldn't mind staying in and cuddling with you." Dec lightly traced little hearts over his husband's chest. "Maybe we can even do more than cuddle tomorrow..."
"Aye, I think I'd be up for that," Ant sleepily smiles in agreement. Dec's light tracing on his chest was soothing Ant, his eyes already closing.
"Ant, do you remember way back when Stephen and Emma set-"
"Set us up on a date," Ant finished. "Of course, I do. I'd never forget that day, pet. Why'd you ask?"
"I was just thinking that I'm glad Stephen and Emma did. That day ended up being the second best day of my life."
"Only second?" Ant peers down at Dec through hooded eyes.
"Aye. Because the best day of my life is every single day I get to spend with you." Dec planted a kiss over Ant's heart before snuggling up closer to him.
"You're quite a sop, aren't you?" Ant started to run his hand through Dec's hair, causing the smaller man to further melt into him. Not long after, Ant heard faint snoring coming from Dec.
Thinking Dec couldn't here him anymore, Ant whispered, "Fancied you rotten from the moment I laid my eyes on you." He lightly kissed the top of Dec's head. "Still do."
"Aye, I know you did." Dec mumbled against Ant's chest.
"You weren't meant to hear that," Ant says, cheeks reddening a bit. "And what do you mean you, 'knew'?"
"You really didn't hide your feelings well, pet."
"Oh, yeah?" Ant challenged.
"You wouldn't let go of my hand and just stood there with a smile on your face, staring at me for a good minute. Couldn't get more obvious than that, Ant."
The two laughed and cuddled closer to each other, both falling asleep immediately after with smiles on their lips.
