//Yes literally ALEXANDER HAMILTON and JOHN LAURENS. There are theories that Hamilton was bisexual and Laurens was his partner during the Revolutionary War because of a letter written from Hamilton to Laurens.
//This story happens before Alexander gets married to Elizabeth Schuyler, as it takes place at his bachelor's party. Most of it is based off of the broadway musical Hamilton by Lin-Manuel Miranda. friends here are John Laurens, Hercules Mulligan, and Marquis de Lafeyette.
//Enjoy!
Lafeyette was walking out the door just as Mulligan's head hit the table with a loud thump. Alexander chuckled as John Laurens helped Hercules onto Lafeyette's back, and brought him upstairs to his room at the tavern. With a wave, Lafeyette went to retire for the night, leaving Alexander and John alone.
"Who knew that Mulligans would get so drunk he'd pass out?" Alexander jokingly asked John.
"Well, I feel we all knew, deep down, it'd happen someday."
Alexander took another shot of whiskey. "It's too bad Burr couldn't be here. We've been together since I've come to America, right from the start."
"Hey, it's his loss. If he can't see his friends last moments of freedom, that's his fault."
"Ha, 'last moments of freedom...'" Hamilton paused. "John... I'm actually fightened to get married. What if I'm not satisfied? Angelica thinks I'm not to be trusted, and frankly, I don't really trust myself either."
Laurens leaned back in his seat and sighed. He placed a reassuring hand on Hamilton's shoulder. "I've heard that people have these thoughts before marriage. My question to you is, do you love her?"
"Yes, but-"
"But what? If you love her, there shouldn't be any other problems. You'd climb a few rungs on the social ladder, you'd have money, and be able to have kids that will inherit your legacy. Alexander, do not throw away your shot. I don't see what could be wrong with-"
Alexander quickly interrupted Laurens with a forceful kiss on the lips. Laurens was somewhat startled, although he had kissed Alexander before.
"Alexander..."
"Laurens, I desire to preserve myself free from particular attachments, but you have taken advantage of my sensibility to steal into my affections without my consent. I wish to convince you through actions, rather than words, that I love you."
Laurens couldn't believe his ears. Alexander had ended their relationship when he started courting Eliza. Part of him wanted to continue, and the other half of him felt heartbroken and betrayed.
Alexander took the silence negatively. "I suppose after not seeing you for the longest time, our friendship has grown cold." He stood up, leaving his glass at the bar, and strode towards the stairs, only to be stopped by John's hand around his wrist.
"Alexander... since you're giving your freedom to Miss Schuyler, one last time wouldn't hurt."
Alexander turned around to face John, and John immediately was helpless at the sight of his eyes, his mouth curled into a smile. Hamilton grabbed Laurens' arm with his free hand and led him upstairs to a bedroom.
Laurens allowed himself to be swept up by Hamilton's energy. Before the door closed behind them, he whispered into his ear.
"I'll keep your eyes in my life, even if Eliza's your wife. Teach me how to say goodbye."
"One last time."
