Addison knelt painfully on the hardwood floor as her arms were pinned behind her, and the cold metal tip of a handgun was forcefully jabbed into the tangles of her long brown hair. Warm tears slid down her cheeks and dripped off her chin, quietly impacting the group in rhythmic patterns. She slowly tilted her head upward and attempted pleading to her captor.

"Please, officer, I didn't to anything wro-"

"It's not what you did," he said, cutting her off, "It's what he did."

The officer released one hand from the weapon and made a harsh gesture towards her friends lifeless body, framed by a pool of blood slowly seeping out underneath him.

"I don't know what you m-"

"Your infected. First, it was him," the cop spat, pointing once more to his last victim. "Then, he transfered the infection."

"But sir," she begged. "He didnt-"

"Shut up!" he demanded, tightening his grip on the gun

For just a second, Addison made eye contact to him, and staring into his dark eyes, she realized that he wasn't just a representation of her fear, but he was a human being, just like her. And despite the gun looming over her, or the brutality in his voice, he was just as terrified as she was.

But then the officer cocked his gun, and made a noise that nearly caused Addison to vomit. that moment she knew that he was going to shoot her. In that very moment, she knew that her life had come to an end.

She closed her eyes, squeezing salty tears between her swollen eyelids, and began to pray. But within that minute, Addison felt hopeless, and so she held her breath and waited to hear the blast that would take her life.

And then it happened, her ears were engulfed with the sound of a bullet tearing through flesh, bone, and life.
