Chapter two

Deeks P.O.V

Waking up at five in morning, I stumbled out of bed and decided to go for a run

While running I was thinking about Laura and that phone call yesterday, if it was nothing she wouldn't be crying. I decided to get Eric to look into it when I get to work.

After my run I feed Marty, had my coffee and ran upstairs to her changed.

I sighed as I walked out the door towards my car putting the key in ignition I sped off towards work.

When I arrived Laura wasn't there yet, which brought me some time, I walked upstairs to ops to find Eric and Nell debating about some new software

"It's got better coverage!" Yelled Nell

"It's a bug!" Shrieked Eric

I started laughing causing them to stop and turn around

"Hey once you guys are done do you mind running Laura's phone records for me?" I said pleadingly

Nell smiled

"Why?"

"She was crying yesterday and I want to see if it had something to do with the person, also when she checked her caller id she went white."

Eric looked at me

"Uh..ok any particular time?"

"Yeah ten seventeen."

Eric began searching through the data

"Yeah she received a call from a James Greyson."

"Can you pull up his files?" I said

"Yup!"

James file popped up on screen

"Oh Deeks this isn't good..." Whispered Nell

I looked up at his file,

"He abused his last wife for two years without anyone knowing..." Said Eric

My eyes widened at thought of someone beating Laura

"I'm gonna go get Callen and Sam."

Sam's P.O.V

Deeks came running down the stairs towards the bullpen were Callen and I were sitting, he looked terrified

"What's up Deeks?" I asked

"We need you at ops NOW, if Laura turns up don't let her in...I'm serious." He turned and walked up to ops

"What do think that was about?" Asked Callen

"I have know idea, but think we're about to find out."I said while walking up the stairs to ops

I walked in to see Nell crying, I walked over to and tried to comfort her

"Nell, what's wrong?" I spoke softly

She looked up at me with a tear streaked face

"Laura..." She whispered

I stood up and walked towards were Callen and Deeks were standing, Deeks looked really nervous as Eric began to speak

"So the reason why your up here is because Deeks found Laura crying yesterday.."

"That's it?" I said clearly annoyed

"Ah but no Deeks told me to run her recent calls and check the guys file, guys he abused his last wife for two years without anyone realizing." Eric stated

"You mean that bastard could be hurting Laura!!?" Growled Callen

"Possibly" said Eric

*I was so angry no ones allowed to lay a hand on Laura she's like mine and Callens little sister. I'm going to kill that guy.*

Deeks started to walk out of ops ad turned around

"Don't tell her, but if you see bruises talk to her." He said quietly

Laura's P.O.V

I cringed as I slowly made it out of bed, putting on winter clothes was a terrible idea because its hot in LA, but that's the only thing that would cover my bruises

Walking downstairs I poured myself some cereal and sat at the table eating it, once I'd finished I rinsed the plate,put in the dishwasher and walked out the door.

Getting in my black SUV, I turned on the radio and the song Radioactive by Imagine Dragons came on, I sung the whole way to work.

Walking into the bullpen I noticed Sam was staring at me

"What?" I asked

"Why are you wearing winter clothes in the middle of an LA summer?" He questioned

"I...i...uh was cold!" I stammered

Callen then pulled me aside into the gym, he was going so fast my scarf fell off, panicked as I tried to grab it, but Callen stopped me

"Laura why do you have bruises on your neck?" He asked worriedly

"Uh I had an accident...clumsy me!"

"No Laura! Why?" He asked

"FINE! I've been dating this guy named James and the first few weeks were nice and then he started hitting me and punching, so that's how the bruises got there." I stated calmly

Callen turned around and punched the punching bag

"WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL US?" He said clearly angry

"HE SAID HE WOULD KILL YOU ALL IN FRONT OF ME!" I said while starting to cry

"Shh shh sh Laura...no-one will hurt us" He whispered hugging me

I looked up at him and smiled

"Who else knows?"

"Deeks, Sam, Eric and Nell. Deeks made us look him up in ops."

"I'm gonna kill him." I whispered into his chest

"He means well Laura, he was looking out for you." He said quietly

"Yeah I know..."
